Here's some new shots in game. It's still pretty rough, the only building that is fully mapped is the Hilton hotel. It is missing several buildings, most notably the Convention Center, which should be behind City Hall in the first pic and would be just across the road in the second pic. Few of the textures are done yet, I haven't even done the curb or sidewalk textures yet as you can see. I also need to make a whole bunch of trees. ;)

All of the roads except one of the three bridges are drivable, though the non-drivable part of the bridges are nowhere near done. The suspension bridge (bottom pic) just has the towers, I haven't done the cables or the structure yet.

Right now, the whole city totals about 3500 polys, and as you can see in the pics, i'm getting about 20 to 30 fps, about 5fps slower than Carlswood, so it's no resource hog. I might have a public beta out by the end of the month, i'll see how much time I have to work on it. I'll release the beta when all the roads are done and when I get more of the mapping and bridge building done.

Well, you sure have done a lot of work there. And you've got it in Racer too. Looks like it'll be a real ripper, I hope you're enjoying yourself as well.

One question, would you consider writing down your thoughts and processes to make the track, as most tutorials done so far for racer seem to rely on SCGT tutorials too much.

Whoaa, that is some impressive stuff. I love those suspended bridge towers in the last pic.
Can you drive everywhere in this track, Midtown Madness-style, or are you limited to 'one' road?

Aussie Muscle, building Racer tracks from scratch is almost identical to building cars from scratch for Racer. Off hand, about the only thing I can think of that is different is that you have to do a few additional things in TrackEd for the track to be driveable, but they only take a few minutes.

You have to turn collision and surface flags on for the roads, otherwise you'll fall through, and you have to use "add lighting" for the lighting to look right. Other than those two things, it's really the same as exporting a car from ZM to Racer.

Remko, right now, you can drive anywhere, even on the water. ^_^ I might change the water so it's not drivable, but you'll definetely be able to drive on the grass like in MM2.

I agree with remko, the bridge does look good, but some of the buildings are very well textured too. You sure know how to wipe the floor with your competition, as the track is looking very sweet.

While we're on the subject of tracks, how do you move lights in T3ED? I hae a track for NFS:HS that's really challenging, and excessively fast. I drove Yuriy's Diablo VT on it and achieved a top speed of 188 mph, and an actual speed of 254 mph in Di Lorio's Jordan EJ12.
