But I just want to hear feedback on my California Look VW Beetle... I've been replecating my Dad's 1960... thanks Samman for letting my use the basic Body of his "old beetle"... and Apathy for his well replicated Porsche 914 Mahles ( don't know how to spell that )
Here are a few ingame pictures that I took recently...

Here is a comparison picture... Sammans original... and what it looks like now... still have a long ways to go...
The list of things to do:
Rebuild Roof ( my next step )
More realistic Sunroof
Straighten out the front hood
Make rear apron
New interior
New Fenderwells
Texture the headlights ( there black for now )
3D underside
Remodeled Bumprers
And other things that I can't think of right now
Things already done:
Make the basic sunroof
New Rear and Front Fenders
Added 3D headlights, new wheels, and proper year tailgihts
I've lowered it, and given it new performance and sounds ( although I might have somone make me a new one )
And other things that I can't think of right now...
Let me know what you think... and please give me your honest opion... I want to perfect this Bug!

Looks pretty good to me.
Although I'm not familiar with the term 'California Look', what does that imply?
One thing I would look at, is keeping the front and rear bumper rounded. I can't really see it on the screenshots, but I think you already did some work on that... Samman's original bumpers look a bit too straight to me.

Thanks Boost! Yeah we haven't talked in quite awhile!
Remko... well the California Look originated in California, people started modifying their Bugs to give Detroit Muscle a good race.
It started in the 1970's... what defined the California Look... Bigger ( more powerful ) engine... dechromed, some times the removel of bumpers... lowered suspension... and a nice set of wheels... those made up the basic california look... there are alot of nice cars out there ( check out www.cal-look.com )... My dads car is one of them... Thanks for the comments!

Hey mate, good stuff there. Keep up the great work. I'm not the greatest fan of Beatles, but that doesn't stop one from truely appreciating another's modelling work. Great stuff.

I desperatly need to know if there is a way to creat hi-res textures... this afternoon I mapped and textured the Headlights on my bug and they looked like crap... how would I be able to make Hi-Res Textures so I can have some sharp clear and visable headlights? It'd also give me a chance to have some better textures on the tailights too ( which are just plain red right now )... Thanks for the comments and help!

Cheers for explaining, Lilcraig. :) That's a pretty neat site too.
I do know that some editors give their cars 512 x 512 textures, but as a non-designer I am still not sure if this truly works (I've come across posts saying there is no point in using 512 textures in NFS4)
What you can do is try to make the headlight as big as possible inside the borders of your 256x256 tga file. In the attachmment you can see how BloOm did that with his Alfa romeo 156, for example:

Wow, I love it -^
One of my close friends has a Beetle and has always wanted his to look similar to that. Great work:cool:

Thanks Remko! With the resize I was able to put bigger ( sharper ) textures for the headlights... before I would have to resize the image to fit the 256x256 and they would be all blury!
I'll post a few new pics soon...

Well heres the update... still a bunch of minor things to do to the roof, but its basically all there... next project is the new interior, although I might do some new bumpers... I made the headlights temporarily black again...
Word of warning about using Blo0m's texturing method.. It is only useful for high polygon vehicles.. If you are trying for low polygons, it won't work correctly..
Just thought I'd highlight that.. Otherwise, your VW looks accurate. And is it just me, or is it attack of the NFS Volkswagens? First the VW Transporter T2, and now this.. Look out! ^_^
