Ooh, yeah, Me like much very...:P:?
I think what im trying to say is "Yeah i like it", way to build a real nice lamborghini. Would i be right in saying this would be the rarest of the production lambos? You dont' hear/see much about them.
Aussie Muscle: No, they made a heap of them:
They did the following models:
Miura P400 (261kW)
Miura S (276kW)
Miura SV (281kW)
Their was also apparently a Miura Jota, from what I've heard, though, I know little about it.
However, at lot ended up crashed, so, they are rare these days.
I think the rarest of the production Lambos is the Diablo Jota (15 made, 13 exist. 1 damaged, the only black one destroyed completely, after an accident and resulting fire.)
I can list other rare ones though:
Lamborghini LM: This car was originally to be for the US army, to serve the same purpose as the well known Hummer.. If you want to be absolutely clinical about it, it could be said that the Hummer idea is a straight rip-off of the Lamborghini concept.. Never the less, the big LM had a thundering 5.1 litre V12 pumping out some 450hp! The road versions had a comfortable interior, and could go nearly anywhere (just be mindful of the big V12's prodigious thirst for fuel). A race version was also entered in the Paris-Dakar rally. I last remember this particular car being in Monte Carlo, though, I don't know where it is now, however.)
Diablo SV-R: The race version of the well known Diablo SV. About 30 or so were built for the Pan-European Lamborghini Supersport Challenge. Powered along by a ground shaking 540hp version of the SV's evergreen 5.7 litre 48 valve V12.
Diablo GTR: The current race Lamborghini. Built primarily for the same championship as the Diablo SV-R.. The first (along with Diablo GT) Lamborghini to adopt 6.0 litre engine capacity, for the well-proven V12. 600hp, and a possible top speed with long gear ratios of more than 350km/hr. If you've seen the black one Paul Stokell races this year, then, you know what the Diablo GTR is.. But, Stokells one is running with some 250kg in weight penalties, to make it slow enough for the competition to catch it, but it still beats everything else. (Yeah, it's that fast).
I could list more, but, I'd be here forever. Notable failures in Lambo history are the memorable Urraco, which nearly killed the company completely, and the ugly Countach, designed on the premise of looking wild, not beautiful, just, outrageous and wild..
The Diablo which replaced the ugly Countach was still visually a Lamborghini, but, it's softer, smoother lines had a classy elegance as well, and, Diablos make suprisingly comfortable (given the lack of height) and easy going machines to cruise along in. The big V12 never needs to be pushed very hard to go fast, but, if pushed, rewards with extreme acceleration, and a very loud thundering roar.
