Greetings all,
I'd like to announce that my private design company, Concept51, is opening a new division: car design. Me and my employees (all four of them) love NFS: HS, and they all remember when I was modelling cars "back in the day." (A year ago.)
I'm uncertain when I will be able to begin development on any one given car, but I can safely say that the first car developed by Concept51 will be the 1995 Toyota Supra 2JZ-GTE pictured below, complete with the Blitz wide-body bodykit only available in Japan.
If anyone would like to pitch some ideas into the wind for upcoming cars, go ahead and post them here. While the Supra below is the "staple" or "mascot," if you will, a 1994 Nissan Silvia SR20-DET will also be in the works, as well as a 2001 Nissan Skyline GT-R34. Very close attention will be payed to the physics aspects of these cars, not only the eye candy.
Concept51 is also looking for a few competant designers to join our little crew, and who knows, this little division might just kick off the upstart of a new NFS: F&F. Regarding the Fast and Furious mod, it will follow closely to the original concept of a year ago. A user would log on, and depending upon the amount of credits available to him/her (credits available by winning races), he/she would be able to buy cars, modifications, and bodykits, etc. The problem of a year ago with this was our inability to realize a process for this thing to be driven by. However, if this should take back off, I myself will personally program the code handling all online functions, via ASP and SQL-driven databases. If you're interested in joining Concept51, or if you just want to say that you'd like to see F&F reborn, post your interest here.
I will say right now that if I do this, I'm in this for the long haul, and that I'm back for good. My modelling skills might be a little rusty, but my ASP (VBasicScript syntax based) skills are not, which is where the meat of the game engine would come from. I will only restart development on F&F if there is enough interest, and only if there is enough interest. More to be posted soon.
Thanks.
