What's your favorite car/bike?

i like the Lotus Esprit most. lots of fun to drive, and you can see the headlights popup when you flash the headlights.

Yes it's a nice little sports-cruiser the Esprit, however the Countach is also a cool classic with pop-up lights :) And note, for some reason it's classified as a D car regardless of tuning, however not many D-cars can hit 330+ kph :D

The Skyline is nice to drive too since I like the classic 3-box coupe-shape and drive nicely. I also like the Alfa GT, which also seems to be the only fwd fwd, however driving with the keyboard then it's impossible to avoid tons of wheelspin in first and second and it just sounds so bad in that car (engine sound) so I quickly get tired of it. The new Ruf RGT (GT3-style) handles (and sound) very nicely and can start without constant wheelspin unlike the turbomodels. In the fast department then the Murcie is in a league of it's own, can start without excessive wheelspin, has a fantastic sound, at least compared to the other TDU cars, and can be controlled in a slide at high speed, just too bad they made a big mistake in the roof-design which is right in the screen when driving with the chasecam.

Esprit, Murci, 288 GTO. I couldn't possibly pick a favorite from those three. I haven't bought the car pack yet.

i forgot about the 288, awesome fun to drive.
Frank, get a wheel if you like racing games, it's worth it in the long run. (there's no cars in the world that are driven with a keyboard).

I actually have a wheel, and then another one (DFP+G25) however the rear-engined cars in TDU makes the rear-engine felt every single time the car turns even slightly and that's uncomfortable. It is nice that they got a setting that changes the steering-ratio of the car so you can set it to match the real car regardless of how many turns the gamewheel has. For instance the DFP+G25 has 2.5 turns lock to wheel and that just happends to be what the BNCR34 has as well and setting what I think TDU calls sensitivity to around the middle means the car's wheels hit their maximum turning angle when the gamewheel has reached it's maximum turn so that's as authentic and realistic as possible.

The problem is that the ergonomics of sitting in a rolling and wobbly officechair and those standing leaning pedals is very bad and strains my kneejoins and back a lot, and those are already not in good condition so that puts a damper on my interest. I've often played with the plan of getting a real seat and pedals hooked up, but my mom's permanently decreased health requires her to get a home where there's a staff of people to keep and eye on her and that means I have to find my own place to live and my own car very fast and that is taking up all my money and most of my time.

You need an office chair for typing and general use. you need a reclined position to use pedals. here's what i did:

i got an office chair, removed the seat from the base and replaced the 'chair' with a car seat (i think out of a datsun?). This gives me a comfortable seat with a recline and support, it's softer than an office chair and lets me rotate it (swivel) to get up.
Next i mounted my pedals on a footbox. its a couple bits of timber that raise it about 4 inches, high enough to use in the reclined position for driving, because the office seat sits much higher than a car seat. I can also move the seat out of the way as its not attached to the table like a pre-built 'racing seat'.

i also have my tdu set up so the wheel is very fine (insensitive), so that i have to turn the wheel a lot to get any turning effect, this is more comfortable for me.
