View Full Version : What is your favourtie car?? Kemperz 04-29-2002, 02:44 PM Well, I was just wondering what everbody's favourite Car was?? I personally don't really have a favourite, but I would kill for one of those new Maybach's! Justin Martin 04-29-2002, 03:29 PM Ahhhh, don't ask that question, takes too long to think of the answer. Near the top of my all-time favorites list would be, of course, the Datsun 240Z. Here's a somewhat inclusive list, just in stream of thought order.... Datsun 240Z all Chevy Chevelles 1st & 2nd gen Camaros C2, C3 & C5 Corvettes Ferrari 250 Lusso 275GTB, Dino Jaguar D-type all Aston Martins all Lotuses Mazda Miata and RX7 Panoz AIV & Esperante Plymouth Duster & Dodge Challenger Allard J2X Cunningham C3 & C4 all TVRs excluding Tamora, Tuscan and the wedges Subaru WRX all Porsches Commander 04-29-2002, 04:36 PM What might be the varying factors? Would I have to buy it? Actually own it and drive it? Can it not even be mine but still I want one? If I had to buy it, I would grab a Corvette Z06. I can actually afford one of those if I chose to give up on the "buy a house" option, heh... nope, I won't, house it is, at least first off anyhow ;) . Dylan 04-29-2002, 11:02 PM some Corvettes Ford GT40 (replica will do) Commodores (all exept VP) Torana's (LJ) late sixties Camaro's and most small cars with big block V8's 05-02-2002, 06:57 AM http://www.f355.net/~tk/cars/vga/P9090260.jpg It is the greatest Ferrari built so far. Not the fastest, but the most enjoyable by far. It is my dream car, and always will be.. The styling is pure, elegant, graceful perfection: http://www.f355.net/~tk/cars/vga/P9190312.jpg Listen to the beautiful sound of the car pictured above: http://www.f355.net/~tk/cars/f355start1.asf This is small but fantastic sound recording! korn696 05-02-2002, 09:13 AM My dream car, which is actually within my grasp, would have to be a black 1995 Toyota Supra, black leather interior, 6-spd manual tranny, all wrapped up into a delightful Bomex bodykit, powered by the massively powerful 2JZ-GTE Twin-Turbo engine. Oh, and the targa top is a must. I plan on purchasing one of these from my local import shop for a cool $45,000 later this year, at which time I will constantly be drooling all over myself and keyboard in anticipation of that 5 o'clock end-of-work time when I can get in that cruise missile and speedily glide through traffic. This car is sooooo money. Second on my list of goodies would be an imported 2002 Mazda RX-7 Spirit, with a mighty twin-turbo charged four-rotor engine, complete with a Veilside bodykit. This one is quite out of my reach, as a) they're only making 500 of these, b) all 500 are already bought by private Japanese collectors, c) it's in Japan, and d) right now, I don't have $150,000 to blow on a car, regardless on how sweet it may be. Fast&Furious 05-02-2002, 05:37 PM Well korn u read my mind, ecept that i would rather have a veilside ci body kit on it even if it is old school. and tri instead of twin turbo, and that is acheivable, saw it in an import racer magazine, that car had an intake for every turbo too. it would have to be ICEd beyond belief. [XR]1.8T 05-08-2002, 08:24 AM This little number would be my dream car; http://www.vwvortex.com/news/03_02/03_20/eb_front1.jpg However, if we are talking about something within reason, I would be satisfied with an APR stage 3+ VW GTi 1.8T with a 75shot of NO2. They can be had for a total of ~$40K with all the propper mods to go along with the 400+ wheel horse power. 05-08-2002, 09:27 AM [XR]1.8T: We were recently talking about the Veyron's evolution (mainly the engines).. See the post on F1 in the Shop Talk forum here, posted by Monaro.. DCMattius 05-08-2002, 01:47 PM I can't find that 4-rotor rx7 anywhere on the mazda page. I'm guessing it's an aftermarket upgrade. I've read about some four rotors that start with 26. I know the car that won LeMan's in 1991 was a Mazda 4-rotor. My favorite car changes all the time. Those new convertible trans-ams look sweet. The Viper GTS would be fun to try too. Matt Aw614 05-08-2002, 05:02 PM really tought choice. I am stuck between the Audi RS2 and RS4 and Audi 200 Turbo Quatrro(Only ~1000 in the US) RS2 and 200 both have the Audi 5cylinder 20v(Dahlback golf also has this motor) that is easily modded and both can get up to 700hp with stock internals. ITs just chipping. I like the RS4 but I don't know how much they can be tuned but I hear a lot with chips. More tunning that a 1.8t!! http://kak.net/audi/audirs2/audirs2-17s.jpg http://www.s-cars.org/rs2/Gallery/012.jpg Commander 05-08-2002, 11:37 PM Here's another wrench to toss into the gears (pardon the pun): Would you prefer to BUILD your dream car (or any car you would be happy with) or buy it from the factory? For example, I see guys on $30,000 Harleys who just went to the showroom and bought them. I prefer to ride on/in something that I built/worked on and that I have a 'relationship' with, if that makes any sense. With this in mind, I think I would prefer a 12 second car that I bought for $1500 and put $3000 into making it that 12 second bugger, over a $50,000 production beast from the showroom floor. Of course, this applies only if an actual purchase is in question. 8)~ Dylan 05-09-2002, 12:17 AM i found another cool car www.mt900.com Commander: I would love to design and build my car, but I don’t think I have the engineering skill or knowledge required to design the chassis and suspension, I might get a kit car one day. Commander 05-09-2002, 03:46 AM Yesssssssss! Indeed do so! Kit cars are the absolute shidt! Not only are you in charge of the build, but also, the car is totally cool tp boot! Justin Martin 05-09-2002, 06:23 AM Ahh, the Mosler MT900. :D I like that car alot, expecially since it (along with the Saleen S7 and Panoz's) proves that Americans can build world class exotics. ;) As for building vs buying, I prefer building/modifying a car. Generally, I prefer older cars over newer ones, and I would definetely restore them myself unless it was something like an old Ferrari, where i'd leave the restoration to a pro.
