from the main EAsports site, it said this.

''V8 Challenge goes gold
We are pleased to announce V8C has gone gold! More details on retail availability early next week.''

but how can a game go gold if it hasn't been released??;)

also, some1 won a comp winning the FIRST EVER COPY of V8challenge(must b the first version, still got 55years wait;) )

''Chris has won a meter long V8 Challenge glossy promotional poster along with the FIRST EVER copy of EASPORTS V8 Challenge. We hope to see you jumping on those forums Chis, and telling everyone your experience of V8C before anyone else can!

''before anyone else can'' they probally wont send him the game for another few weeks anyway.

His on-line nickname is Chris_k

His a friend of mine from the old GPL days.Incidently he made Bathurst for GPL,he did a better job then EA or Dice did in re-creating the track.

I have raced on that Bathurst tracl in GPL (the first one) and it truly is awesome however I didn't see Bathurst in those days so I can't comment on realism. The V8Challenge Bathurst track is very well presented. I walked around on it and have also driven around on it (both last year) and with the exception of a few houses not included the representation of Bathurst in the V8Chal game is very accurate. :hat:-^-^-^

Not 100% sure what year GPL is based on but shouldn't have Bathurst been a dirt track back then?

Hi, all!

When a developer is ready to send a CD off to the "duplicators" to be mass copied, it's mostly done on a very high quality "gold" CD to celebrate the fact that it is "finished". Therefore, going "gold" means their final release version is done and the CD is now in duplication just prior to packaging and distribution.

thanx 4 the info cheyenne-^ :D

but one thing,
it's mostly done on a very high quality CD

keyword: MOSTLY, l doubt EA do it on 'qaulity ' cds.....all the EAsports games i've got (around 5) are just black and white coloured (on top of course).

same thing with all the manuals. They remind me of imported pirated games from china(i've seen lots of these).
