Is there a reliable way to make a semi turn sideways and tip over, as in the intro video? I did it once, by accident.

Haven't found any reliable ways. But the trucks moving the logs about are handy. The one with the cars on it less so.

I remember once, seeing that a semi had tipped over when I looked behind me for a spilt-second, but I've never managed to do it on purpose. I have a feeling that it may help if the truck happens to be turning left or right, I don't know if your own car will carry enough impact to upset the vehicle, but a whole bunch of cop cars that were on your tail will perhaps do the trick.
I think I will try to create this situation, next time I do a Pusuit Challenge, I enjoy playing these lately because there is no tension involved of having to beat them in order to progress through the game. :D

Yeah I've never been able to reliably turn them over even when I tried without significantly hindering my own progress as well. Maybe just try and speedbreak under them instead? heh..

Yeah the semi's with the logs and boxes can be tipped over and cause a "Moving pursuit breaker" of sorts, but it's a bit difficult to get done without getting caught up in the mess yourself as well.

talkin of 'semis', anyone ever get busted under one before? it happened to me a while ago; i tried to dodge a spike strip and ended up under it, and then the cops got me stuck under the truck, and up against a wall and a mass of them..

Yeah, repeatedly.=[ I usually don't try anything like that anymore, the risk is too big that you get 'stuck'. If I can, I try to give the logging trucks or car carriers a little nudge though, but very carefully.

yea same, if i see a truck now, i steer well clear of it, or i gently tap the trailer so as to knock off the logs/cars, but usually this ends up with me spinning out or stopping dead :(

A tip for the logging truck:

This does not work for all of the big trucks, but you can drive under the trailer of the log truck. The trick is to drive under the trailer an hit the back of the truck instead. The logs will only fall off to one side, and you can duck out the opposite side to escape.

My roommate is a trucker, and when I first got the game I used to have fun bugging him about how I would ram the semi's. He didn't find it very amusing that I was doing this because "in real life, I see a-holes every day who nearly run into me!" he would grumble, heheheh, and he seemed somewhat smug when I got pinned under one and was thrown in the joint. Anyway, the best tactic, I have learned, is to not get yourself into the fight with the semi; you will lose 90% of the time. Instead, bully a "Ned Flanders" (slow traffic car) into the semi and let him deal with losing the battle between his mini van and 10 tons of Kenworth. Not only does the semi (log truck or car carrier) dump its load all over the place, but Flanders also becomes part of the carnage, adding yet one more obstacle for the fuzz while you scoot ahead to let Flanders, the cops, and an angry trucker sort things out for themselves. My tip anyway.

@commander

I think my favorite part of your tactic is the use of the name Flanders.:D

Its funny how people like your trucker buddy often respond negatively to a game like this. In contast, my friend Glen, a local county police officer and new member of this forum, has no problem with the game. He tells me that his fellow officers love this sort of thing for the escape and entertainment value.

As for using traffic to tip the trucks, I have recently started using traffic as a more effective pursuit breaker, and it is fun to see if you can toss a car in the right direction to knock off a few pursuers.

Would he love it more if it included "be the cop" mode?
