I finished the final race with Razor yesterday. While driving afterward, I headed over a certain jump, and as I did...
Crash to the desktop.
No problem. I have autosave turned on.
When I bring the game back up, It came up leaving me with 3 milestones and two races before I can challege Razor.
Now I have to race him all over again, including the hated drag race.

Aw man that sucks :'( I hate it when that sort of thing happend after a long fight with the game to beat it. I also know the feeling after a bad choice in an action-game and I have to load up the last save-game, that's a long way back from where I was.
Best advice (in the off-chance you don't know and do this yourself already) is to get some fresh air and let the frustration disappear so you'll lower your stress level and increase concentration back to normal before trying it again.
Greetings

I ran through it all again this afternoon and finished a few minutes ago. I had to pass a few pursuit milestones, and here's my result:

It is "cheated" a little in that I parked on the awning at the bus station for three minutes so that I could take a restroom break.:)
I never have learned many of the cool down spots, so I am always hiding in stupid places hoping not to get caught. On this occasion I parked on the deck of the Rosewood City Hall (the building you drive under - right next to the Rosewood police station), and hoped that the helicopter did not find me. I actually was just trying to hide for the last million or so of the accumulated bounty, but I could not catch a break.

Really funny to use the bus-stop restroom, but very practical too :D
Am I the only one that uses the stadium to get away, by locking myself in? I drive thrue the first pillar, the across the field and out by the side of the other pillar, and then double-back and thrue it, effectively blocking myself in, it's not a hiding-spot with accelerated time, but I've yet to see a cop-car come thrue the times I've tried it.

I do use the baseball stadium for getaways, but in the higher heat levels I found police cars inside when I got there, a few more in the street outside, and of course the usual road block. I usually keep going through and then hang a left and drive back around to the other side and the cool down spot.

Ah, I never found any cop cars inside, but I didn't use it at the end though, and I always made sure I used cars with low wanted scores. I never used that cool-down spot since it right next to the freeway so highly exposed when copcars come searching.

I didnt find cars inside until the higher heat levels, but after that I had to change tactics. Also, at level 5 I did actually have cars drive around the pursuit breakers and come inside and find me. I was trying to hide out at home plate.
I use my Evolution for chases, and it racked up some high heat in the Milestones right before the showdown with Razor. Unfortunately, I didnt think about that when I raced Razor, and though I usually use my Lotus for racing, I used the Evo instead. Using a high heat car in the final races really makes the end alot harder. :)

To my knowledge then you get the maximum wanted level after the end no matter what so that's wouldn't have made a difference. I used the Gallardo myself mostly and at the end the Carrera GT.

I can tell from the experience now of having to do the ending twice in two days :( that the first time around I drove my Lotus (low heat) and I got only the white Corvettes after me, and the second time in the Evo (high heat) I got the solid black and black and white Covettes on me right at the start. Much more difficult.
My buddy (new to the board) uses the Gallardo alot too, but I just couldnt like it. Is that car all wheel drive?

There was actually a lower heat-level after the race? I didn't think so, he got so psychotic I thought the level was always set high, especially with all those cars and SUV's after me, it was insane!
The Gallardo in real life is AWD yes, but those cars in the game usually still power-oversteer like rwd so that's not useable info. I used the Gallardo since I won it after a blacklist race and it had ultimate updates that were still locked for me to buy, except nitrous which was also the only non-ultimate update on the car so it was a clear choice for me.

I once got a odd police bonus, it was like 100,000 or something, instead of 10,000. After I think i destroyed major cops by going into the stadium.

Yeah, but I thought that the car was actually supposed to be all wheel drive, and yet it never dug in its claws off the line like my Evo did. I won the Gallardo too, and I had high hopes that it would be my new favorite, but it disappointed me.

I never actually looked at the heat level during the first race, but I know that never saw anything tougher than the white vettes (suvs too) and I was able to run through it on the first try, right up until the computer crashed. The second time I had black vettes and two tone vettes on me from the start and I had to make quite a few runs at it to last until the end.

If you get to the final chase, you can abort it and save your game at that point. When you continue career later, it will start with the Mia scene and then onto the final chase. You won't have to race Razor again.

I did get the final chase, and won it. For the last few races I used a Carrera GT, and not the 911 Turbo S (another one that is very fast off the line). The Turbo S was so hot you could cook on it - after wiping out Cross' Corvette.

I never saw Cross' Corvette that I know of, but I dont know how far you have to go to get to him. I had particular trouble in the final chase the second time around, getting arrested six times or so before getting through.
After the arrest it always started me out at the beginning of the chase again, so I was pretty sure there was a save point there.
@chris
I never tried the the Turbo S, but I think that I will try the career over again with Jeff's billion credit savegame so that I can play with all of the cars this time around. Maybe next month. The first time limited funds held me to fewer cars and there were quite a few that I did not try out.
