Is anyone else having a problem with the Game Speed being like 3x what it should be? More often than not, the MW world loads running everything in Fast Forward. It's not just my car, either. If I sit and watch other cars, they're all blowing around at high speeds. Then, when I try to drive, everything is moving waaaay to fast. Steering is nearly impossible, and at top speeds it's even worse.

Sometimes, if I ALT+TAB out to the desktop and change something in my graphics card properties, it will be normal when I get back. But this doesn't always work.

The DEMO does the same thing for me, but only in the Toll Booth trial.

Has anyone else experienced this? Do you know of a fix or a patch?

My system specs are:

AMD 64 x2 3800+
2 GB Dual Channel RAM
NVidia 7800 GT @ 256

Any help would be awesome.

wow - that's a new problem to me. I've not heard of that issue before. Best advice I can offer right now is the standard making sure your drivers are up to date and turn off any extra programs before running the game. Maybe check the EA support site for any others having the problem in the faqs.

Yeah, I checked everywhere. I've seen nothing about it. My drivers should be up to date because this computer is just a week old and I downloaded and installed the drivers....but I'll check that and see what happens.

EDIT: I just checked, and my drivers are up to date. No other game does this (F.E.A.R., B&W2, etc...)

I've never heard about this either, but your CPU is that a twin unit that might be the reason it's sped up? You wrote x2, does that mean two of them? The routines used for coding the speed in the game might be affected by that, like Grand Prix Legend's physics was with fast CPU-speeds (it was made in 98 so CPU speeds are 20-30x higher now), when driving the vehicle speed was normal, but the physics for tire-grip, intertia and engine-power was sped up making it impossible to drive the car.

Best wishes to get it working
Frank

It's a dual core processor. That makes sense. I also checked the advanced settings in Direct3D for my graphics card, and one option is "Max Frames to Render Ahead". This was set at 3, so I dropped it to zero. It worked for a couple minutes, then things went crazy again. So I went back, up'd it to 3 again and the game started playing normally for a couple minutes before going back to being crazy.

Every so often the game will be fine, and I can drive normally (which is much more fun, and I perform much better) but this only lasts for a minute or so. I've noticed that if things are normal, using NO2 will get it acting weird again. But this problem was happening even before I unlocked the NO2 upgrade.

I only tested this for a moment, but it looks like that fixed it! From reading what Microsoft said about the fix, the only negative aspect is battery life (this is a desktop, so that's no big deal).

That's a great find. You're a God among Men!!!!

Thanks a bunch.
