This thread is really only for the aviation fans I think. ;)
Post photos, videos, or just mention any wierd or different planes, or whatever planes you've seen recently.
Most different I've seen recently were:
- Japan Airlines Res'och'a 747-200 (hit by what looked like severe wind-shear today!)
- Fedex (possibly) DC10-30 Freighter
Also watched a 737-800 go into low cloud and give a great demonstration of the dangers of wake-turbulence, that invisible but highly dangerous trail of unstable air left behind any plane, but particularly larger jets.

Hi,
No photos of it unfortunately (it was low enough, but still high!) - the strangest aircraft I've ever seen is an Airbus Industrie Super Guppy (#2). It flew over one summer and the sun was such that it just looked like a bright white dot in sky, until it moved across the sky to reveal itself. It was the first and last time I've seen one for real. Awesome!
Any ideas on the airline? Taken over the UK heading East -> West, heading out trans-atlantic:

Well this is not the best place to to do plane-spotting but I did see an interesting plane, an old bi-plane with a rounded off small tail, slow flying, twin seater, red/yellow but I couldn't ID it, but the round tail was circle-round and not kind-of pulled backwards like some other old bi-plane trainers.
otherwise I've seen a Dash-8 400 (probably) from SAS (Scandinavian Airlines) and a ditto Airbus A340 (I think) fly over when we're shopping in my home-town south of Copenhagen. I've also seen a few small Cessnas, 150/152 and 172s fly over here. Roskilde Airport also has what looks like a Tocatta, or at least I think it is since I doubt it was a Commander (I couldn't see if the landing gear was fixed or not and only got a glimpse since I'm not sure if you're allowed to park and walk around at the fence right next to the GA parking anymore).
The most strange plane I've seen in person was a Nomad, like the one in the classic australian series Flying Doctors, and the Nomad is a aussie plane too I believe. I saw it while driving in Juttland and going by Aarhus airport and it was just taxiing on the runway and taking off with the tail right near the fence we drove past. Oh wait, I just remembered one thing, I've seen a An-124 at Billund, that might be even wilder. I just can't remember when though, but it was clearly that, white with blue stripes and cyrrillic writing saying AH-124 on the side (looks like that I think).

Hmm, I was going to say Atlas, but it's a B747-400, and they usually only use 747-200 and 747-300 I think. Could it be a Lufthansa 747? Or Corsair?

Hi,
Now you mention it, that looks like the Lufthansa star on the tail. I think it might be Lufthansa then. :) I thought it might be an Air New Zealand (they have a very similar paint scheme) but it seemed to be a long way from home.
Best regards,
Robin.

It could be Air NZ.
Saw what I think was a Star Alliance Airbus A330. Not sure what airline, but it was in the star-alliance promo colours.
Also saw the Commonwealth Games 2006 Boeing 737 (Qantas).
Others:
Air Pacific 747-400 (from Fiji)
United Airlines 747-400 (a regular visitor, same time every day).
Thai Airlines 747-400
Singapore Airlines 747-400 "Megatop"
A few Qantas 747's (747-400 and 300).
Too many Qantas 767-338's (both GE and RR engined)
Too many Virgin Blue 737's.
Too many Jetstar Airbus A320's.
Haven't seen Qantas' Wunala (747-438) or Yananyi Dreaming (737-838) planes recently.
