outrun mode?

Does anyone know what happened to outrun mode in nfsmw? Maybe I'm just not seeing something that's right in front of me, and I'm still not that far into the game yet, so I'm hoping that this may come into play later, but judging by the total lack of opponent cars when roaming so far (except at the end of a race and even then you can't do anything), I'm somehow doubting that it is available.
I remember reading early on that outrun and also outrun best route would be available, but since the release I haven't heard anything about whether or not they were included or why.
Maybe it's just me but I enjoyed this mode in nfsu2 and I was looking forward to it again in the latest title. Free roam driving is fun for a while, but you need something to break up the monotony of things a bit and running from the police just isn't quite the same.

Smash some thinks up, and run fast,you'll get to outrun mode eventually.
In MW you need to look for the cops or be a really bad boy so they might come looking for you.Or you can go to the mani menu,select blacklist and then start a chase from there.

thanks for the reply, but I was talking about the mode in nfsu2 in free roam where you would be challenged by other racers & the race continued until one car got 300m ahead of the other.
I've searched many forums about this and I haven't seen anyone talking about it. Am I the only one who liked this mode?

MW2 doesn't have an outrun mode (or street x or url).

outrun mode was good, and but what i think is the main missing thing is drift; that was always BY FAR my fav mode of play in nfsu 1+2, and the reason why i play nfsu2 and mw in equal measure still

Outrun is COOL. But sad there's no outrun mode in MW. Well then, at least we can outrun with the cops right?
