Amazing how Dylan can live in a different state to me and Mickcals, ring up EB and be told 26th whereas we get told 29th

Youd think that all EB stores aus wide would get the games in at the same time, wouldnt you??

Maybe they are taking a guess at what day it comes and and hope for the best.

mickals man, u gotta stop saying when the game is going to be released. The release date has changed so many times l dont think ppl should say ''THE GAME WILL BE RELEASED etc..."

u cant blame harvery norman or EB for not knowing, not their fault EA are retards^_^

Matt - I know what your saying but I must admit that we did get told 29th.

When we asked this guy at EB in Penrith, he told us to our faces "Ahh yeah - It's been pushed back until the 29th". I asked him then was he sure (because I dont want to hear crap about it will be unless they know and he said "Look - we got told 29th of this month"

And Mickcals did also ask the Castle Hill EB store and got told the 17th, which the guy at Penrith told us they had also been told.

Just thought I'd clear that up - but otherwise your totally right! We shouldnt have "It will be released" - it needs to be "The new date is .." or "The guessed date is"

Im not blaming EB or Harvey Norman for not releasing it Im just trying to ponit out that EA seems to have a problem with V8 Challenge

But they keep on saying "IT IS GOING TO BE RELEASED ON............." so they keep on putting the fans on hold rather then find out for them

Hi All;

Been told by a guy at Hardley Normal Aspley store QLD, that the Australian distributor " somewhere on the Gold Coast " will be getting stock in by the end of the month "this month if we are lucky" and the game should be available in the beginning of May.

I hope so !!!!!!!!

PS: My first message :HB:

welcome to the forum Okky.

today l was in EB, this guy was trying to ''return' his copied PSX games. Must be dumb to try to 'return' copied games to a shop as big as EB.

MattB

^_^ , probally end up getting in more trouble than it was worth.

the guy trying to trade the 'broken' games accutally got angry at the salesperson. Everyone in the shop looking at him like ''u are a wanka mate'':D

he ended up buying a old Starwars game aswell;)

Mickcals

I wonder why V8 Challenge is taking so long to be released

The people working on it have to be professionals

Do you think that they are trying to compete with teh "Offical V8 Supercar Game" that Avesco is releasing

Next time Im in Penrith i ll go to EB and ask for a contact number or email

Mickcals
04-22-2002, 12:17 AM
EB now reckon that 1st of May

But that is not offical (according to "Jason" the guy who served me)

MattB
04-22-2002, 12:32 AM
professionals? no way^_^

l think if EA were trying to compete with the TOCA game. it would be best for EA to release the game sooner than later.

If both games are released at the same time, l strongly think TOCA will win the battle.

wat u guys think??

PS: mickals u should post in the A/M forums aswell.

Thanks all for the warm welcome! -^

At the moment currently playing NFS PU online starting to get a bit bored with the game, need a change.
Got a V8 Challenge game on order, can't wait to get my hands on the game, especially because the game has local tracks and V8 cars. The game pictures looks fantastic. I hope my computer can handle the game, I have PIII 500 MHZ, 192 Ram 32 meg video card.

I hope to see you guys on the race track soon.! :)

Will try and kick your asses :HB: if I can ^_^

Once again thanks for the warm welcome

your computer should be ok, not as good as mine (except more ram) but i cant brag mine is just a cheap $1500 computer. BTW i posted a thread about system requirements here (http://www.racerplanet.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1204)

Y2kGoofball
04-24-2002, 07:42 AM
... then again I was talking to someone who works in a gaming place and he said that the dates they get told are only what EA (or in fact the delivery company or couriers) have been given as the delivery date.

Just because they have been told 1st May dont mean its coming on 1st May.

And one more thing - Dont forget release date and delivery date can be different. Wouldne be the first game 'released' on one day and 1 week later the local shops finally geta a copy.

Something to keep in mind.

Dylan

yes that is a good point matt, its hard to imagine them delivering to every computer store in australia in one day

monaro
04-25-2002, 03:36 AM
then again they could be father christmas^_^

i was reading in the official V8 Challenge forum that there will not be any hefty system requirements other than necessary Win 95 or better and a 3d card

Dylan
04-25-2002, 03:39 AM
u could have read that here, cause i posted it before and there is a link to the thread a couple of posts up

Mickcals

Look at this screenshot I ve found

The numbers on some of the cars are wrong for example on e of the Castrol Holdens have No 5 when No 5 is Glenn Seton (a ford driver), Brad Jones(No 21) is No 18 (Paul Radisich) and the Betta Electrical Cars are 65 and 66 not 800

now I am wondering whether this game is worth the wait

Dylan
04-29-2002, 01:35 AM
hmm

maybe you can choose your own number?

monaro
04-29-2002, 03:00 AM
not sure about those wheels either, they look really unrealistic and bad

Mickcals
04-29-2002, 10:46 PM
I think that the programers working on the graphics are crap and thats why it is taking the game so long to be released

Because I was looking at previous screenshots from around January 2002 and all the numbers were correct. This was before they decided to upgrade the cars from 2001 to 2002

Latest news from EA Australia for V8C release date

Copied from EA Austalia Forum Site

D Day. Delivery Date for V8 Challenge.
EA SPORTS V8 Challenge is well into the production phase now and the finished product will ship from Singapore in the next few days.

To allow time for inbound freight, customs clearance and shipping time onto our retailers we've set an official availability date of Friday, May 10th 2002. The vast majority of retailers should have the product in their stores just prior to this date.

We'll be sharing this information with our retailers immediately. Thanks again for your patience, D-Day is, finally, around the corner.

Bob

cool, if this information it true (even tho EA said it), they may of beat TOCA PRO RACE DRIVER.

Dylan

cool

matt: it probly wont run it, well not good. i dont think i will get the toca one cause a) i dont want to have to get a DVD rom or a playstation. and b) i dont want all the extra crap that comes with it.

MattB
