Just found this curious. Hopefully the rest of the senators are smarter then that. I know there's a few idiots here in the US I worry about too.

Besides stepping on individual freedom, filtering is an inexact process at best. It is likely that as many "innocent" as "guilty" would be blocked from access.:(
Not going to happen (thankfully ;D). Its impossible to index every single porn site and block it. More over reliably filter ONLY porn - im sure things would get muffed up and legit SFW sites would get blocked.

Ah, but there are other motives!
Who says it should be restricted to "adult" content.. It could be applied to non-conforming political content as well (anything critical of the government, or exposing government scandals).
It's another case of our government restricting freedoms of speech for its own political benefit.
