 Dude! That last one is scary!! On one of the others it's so big it looks like a baby-plane proportion-wise. Thanks for the link :)

Ugly looking with those Emirates "stickers" on it. ;) It'll look better with a proper red and white tail. ;)

And while Emirates is second to get it's colours on the tail of an A380 (behind Singapore Airlines), Qantas will certainly have them in service before Emirates since it chose RR Trent 900 engines, while Emirates chose "Engine Alliance" engines. Engine Alliance engines haven't even been run in flight yet on A380.

In Australia, we had an interesting A380 documentary on TV recently. Among the most interesting video footage of all was a $25,000,000 Rolls Royce Trent 900 engine being put through a simulated fan blade failure. One blade had a charge put near where it was attached. The engine was wound up to full power, and the charge was activated, severing the fan blade.

The resulting engine destruction was incredible and catastrophic. The whole thing glowed red hot, but the enclosure kept everything inside the engine, as it should.

Even if I did (and I don't unfortunately), it's copyrighted material. The Rolls Royce website (the one for aero engines) might have one. It's something you don't normally see, since the engine makes don't normally like to let people see their engines failing.

But in this case, it was incredible to see a Trent 900 running at full power have a fan blade detach. :yikes:
