Just heard SBS TV network in Australia is going to be broadcasting Topgear. They'll be broadcasting 2 seasons of Top Gear over the next few months.

About time we get it on free-to-air television. SBS is starting to look like the best TV station in Australia. With excellent news/current affairs programs, interesting documentaries, great coverage of the World Cup and sport. We just need it to pick up F1, Grand Prix Masters and FIA-GT and it'll be all complete. Oh, and some Discovery Wings channel documentaries as well.
Erm, wrong place dude.
That's very cool, SBS is awsome, lots of shows that are good to watch, fav show is Myth Busters that is a Discovery Channel one.

I think having Top Gear on TV here is going to kill the generally very boring Australian motoring shows (The Car Show and Drive time). Drive Time isn't so bad (hosted by the folicly challenged Michael Stahl) but neither have the impact of Top Gear, nor do they test anything really desirable.
Who knows, maybe Channel 10 will get 5th Gear in response and then we'll have all the well known British motoring TV hosts:
Top Gear:
Jeremy Clarkson
James May
Richard Hammond
5th Gear:
Tiff Needell
Vicky Butler Henderson
Jason Plato

I think it'd be more likely to get a useful answer in it's new location. :)
I wasn't even aware they were still on, they are on at times when most people don't even think about TV really, or are watching car races. From what I remember of the car show, it was a big ad for Ford products, Jags, Volvo's, Ford's Mazda's, that's it, they showed up and filmed a hugeHorsepower car at the Holden and Ford Show two years ago, car made about 1000hp before the torque exceeded the high capacity dyno they have. BUt never did see if they showed it, prolly did for about 5 seconds.

Mythbusters is quite a neat program. Channel 7 obviously thinks so, as it has somehow managed to integrate some of Mythbusters into one of its own shows.
But the portions of Mythbusters are all re-runs of what SBS has already broadcast. :)
SBS is getting all the good TV shows. And next year the World Cup live, all matches. Hopefully with the help of Guus Hiddink we might be able to get to the finals. We've disposed of Uruguay for the last time, so maybe that's good news. Hope we don't end up facing Brazil in the first match..
I dislike soccer very much so I wish it was on a normal channel with the football.
Beyond tommorow and Mythbusters are funded by the same production company which is why they show parts of mythbusters on there actually.
