THE GRAND MIX DOUBLE RALLY

This Sunday the 20th November at 19.00 GMT

The idea is, that we race as teams, 2 drivers in each team.

1st and 2nd heat is 7 laps at Monza Junior driving the Mini and the Abarth cars. Each team must have one of each type in both heats.

3rd and 4th heat is 7 laps at Hockenheim Short driving the Alfa GTA and the Lotus Cortina. Each team must have one of each type in both heats.

Best qualification time will get the team a 20 sec. bonus
Winning a heat will get the team a 30 sec bonus

If a driver is unable to finish a heat, he will get the slowest time + 2 min for the DNF. So even if you screw up somehow, and may get your car damaged, you will still have something to fight for in the rest of the race.

Race times from all 4 races for both drivers will be put together.
The winning team will of course be the one with the fastest overall time.

Settings for all races will be professional,

You can either sign up as a team ( 2 persons ) or you can just sign up :- )). To avoid wasting time on Sunday, we need to fix the teams on beforehand. If you care to join, just drop me a PM or mail me at crix2000@hotmail.com

So far, 2 teams are ready for the mighty battle at Monza and Hockenheim.

Team 1: Hotkeys and DRAGON
Team 2: Klose and MclLowry

I will open the game at 18.00 GMT if anyone wants to practice. ( I need it bad ! )
At 19.00 quali for heat 1 starts, and 10 min later is race start.
Quali for heat 2,3 and 4 is also 10 min.

The main purpose of this whole event is to have FUN while you are competing ! If someone rams your car by accident, just as you are about to win the heat -------- don’t get mad; forgive the poor man :- ) Remember that one of the most important differences between this great racesim game and real racing is, that you don’t have to pay your mechanics to fix the car.

For practical reasons, I will limit he number of drivers 10, and I will password the race.

Everybody is welcome to join, just drop me a line and you in for the race.

Hope to C U

Check your PM maty :)
I just finished 2nd stage and won the Merce :cool:

I need a teammate for this next sunday races, I can take any car (if you want a particular car), so come on join this sunday fun!
I have no problems with racing single, but it would be more fun with a teammate, so please join us! :)

I guess the Mini maybe is the easy among the 2 tiny cars?, and I know for sure that the Alfa GTA is the is the easy and firm nimble drive versa the Cortina.

I think the tracks are alot better in GTL versa GTR, esp regarding altitude visual layouts (in GTR you have to look at replay to get the real altitudes visuals of a track), anyone have same experience?

Coolness, 3 teams so far, yeeehaa!

I found that it is a significant difference between the Mini and the Fiat regarding laptimes, the Mini is alot faster. This may have something to do with the fact that I know how to drive a fwd tinycar in real, but I have no idea about how driving the very special Abarth :o
With Mini I easy did a 1-08-6 after only a few laps (1st try in Mini on that track) and in Abarth it took me 12-15 laps to do a 2-10-010 (and some tweaking on setup).
The Abarth is very hard to brake versa the Mini (into 1st curve and into the chicane), also it's abit different gearratios (hard to get it reved up quick)

Oh but I know Mads ! The mini is a lot faster than the Abarth. The idea is, that each team MUST use both cars. The best Abarth drivers get low 1.09's at Monza J. I can only manage 1.10.400 so far. I have a decent setup now, feel fre to test it. I have a couple of Alfa setups to, but I don't think they are good.There are many online setups for alfas, cortinas and minis.

Yes I understand that this is ment to be 2in1 class racing, what I ment was; it's smart to plan the team to go for best average times, meaning that the racer who fits a car good will race that car, or the car who is easier to drive is given to the teammate who have less practice.. :)

Regarding bonus points: will each class get these points or only the pits-best driver?
If one car is slower, why not give some extra bonus if a driver race or quali faster in such a car than let's say 2 of the other quicker cars laptimes? (please don't care to much about this suggestion, the sundayfun is the most important, I'm only here for the awesome fun we have together!)
:D

See you in the pits :HB: :beer: :wave: :Peace:

I like both your ideas Mads. I believe, that if we had 5 or 6 teams racing, it would be more relevant with bonus time for each class. I'm a little afraid to makes things to complicated right now. As it is, I'm going to be real busy writing down the score manually (hope they fix that can't Alt-Tab thing soon) after each heat. &(

I agree with you Mads; car tactics is of course important. No need to practice the cars you're NOT going to drive ;) I hope you have made contact with Ruskus in order to get that straigtened out.

I'm willing to revial team 1's brilliant tactical plan : We aim to win !
---- and I'm driving the Abarth and the Alfa ( of course ).

The main idea of this Team-rally is, that no matter what happends during race, no matter how far behind you get, no matter how far ahead of the others you get, you will still have something to fight for.:duel:

It's gonna be a hell lot of fun I'm sure :HB: :D

Loving a Fiat takes alot of hours on the road, driving cars with personalities, maybe not the most comfy personalities, but WOW it's funny!

Great thing, now I start to know the Abarth a tiny bit, the smallest racing car there is :D
As soon it start go sideway into a curve it feels like it's 90 degree angled (because it's so tiny) , sooooo fuuunnnnnnn!!! HEHE

If looking at GTL stats, I'm far far behind the reference laps tho I'm #2 in the Abarth (I wonder how to drive 3 sec faster at that track in that car.... hmmm)

Looking forward to next sunday cup!

EDIT: Finally I smoked the HOTKEYS in the sunday cup! :)

On behalf of klose, I'm posting the program for this sunday.

ok, i'm finished planning and here's the plan.
first race at imola in a mustang or falcon (that'll finish the cars from the first class), 5 lap race.
to make make sure we get through the schedule i thought we do 10 lap qualifier per driver (can be less if your happy with your time).
second race also 5 laps at imola, but in a healey.
third race at donington national (the short one anyway) in a jag MKll, again 5 laps, again 10 laps mx in quali.
fourth and final race at donington in a 65 corvette, again 5 lap race.
tyre wear will be on normal, as will fuel and stuff.
flags black only (if i remember).
BUT!! there is a twist in it.
both second races will have no quali and will be run in reverse order of finish.
meaning last will start in pole and so on.
i thought i settle for a point system rather than adding the times (i got bse, so i'm crap at maths).
a win gets you 10 points, 2nd 8, 3rd 6, 4th 4, 5th 2....., if we are more than 6 i'll revise that.
a finish will get you 1point, dnf will get points deducted.
pit opens at 18.30 for a bit of practice, quali starts at 19.00.
if anyone can't make the first race or second or third, but would like to run in the remaining race/s, there will be 5 min breaks inbetween races in the main lobby (as we need to change cars anyway) a rough guide is probably 15 min for 5 laps at imola.
so if you're late and can't get in check after 15 min in the lobby.
pit name will be "any old iron", password "1965" (with out quotes.)
times are uk times (GMT), add 1 hour for europe, and some more for everywhere else.....
see you soon.
j.

This Sunday the 4th December at 19.00 GMT

1st and 2nd heat is 5 laps at ZOLDER, 1st heat driving the Lotus Elan 26R, 2nd heat driving the Renault Alpine A110.

3rd and 4th heat is 7 laps at ANDERSTORP NORTH driving the Mercedes 300SL in 3rd heat, and the Lotus Elite in the 4th heat.

WINNING-POINTS:
Winner = 15 pts, 2nd= 13pts, 3rd= 11pts, 4th= 9pts, 5th= 7pts, 6th= 5pts and so on.. (I guess we will max be 8 drivers, or else I'll revise that table.)
THEN the twist;
same points ranking system will be used for best laptimes during each of the 4 races (only best laptimes during the races, not quali)

Total race points from all 4 races will be put together making the result list.

If 2 racers get same amount of points overall 4 races the total time of racing will be counted, the faster time will then win the tie.

If a driver DNF no points or time is scored for that race.

Settings for all races will be professional

I need somebody to host becuase my upload don't handle this kind of hosting..
Depending on that the host agree the game opens at 18.30 GMT for some practice.

At 19.00 quali for heat 1 starts, and 10 min later is race start.
Quali for heat 2,3 and 4 is also 10 min.

The race will be named SUNDAY-DRIVERS SCHOOL , password is 0412

Hope to see you there :)

Thank's :)

Well, Ruskus says he don't have the 300SL in his garage, so we might have to choose other car for raceheat #3, in that case heat #3 will be done driving in the Ford Escort RS :D &(

Hope this is OK for everybody.

Hello Vic --- and a late Happy Birthday too. ;)

It would be awesome, if you were to join us for some GTL racing. I 'll be looking fw 2 that. We have a very nice, friendly, helpfull and yet compettetive atmosphere in these sunday races, so U will feel right at home I'm sure :D :D
If you need any help I'll be more than willing to provide U with whatever setups I have. Actually setups are not terribly important in this game I believe unless you aim for the absolut elite. GTL resembles NFS PU in that respect -^

Echo that guy from Copenhagen, HAPPY birthday Victoria!
And yes, just ask us about setups or anything, the GTL community is just as friendly as our good PU home ;) :love:

Hope to see you soon!

This is what Ruskus has planned for tomorrow.

Feel free to join ;)

Okay guys, here is the deal.

Track LAPS Vehicle

Hockenheim short (5 laps) Corvette' 76
Magny-Cours Club (5 laps) Renault' Alpine
Magny-Cours National (5 laps) Mercedes' 300SL
Mondello Park short (10 laps) Ford' Mustang'/Ford' Falcon'
Dijon Prenois short (8 laps) BMW CSL
Donington Park National (8 laps) Ford Capri

And for the points:
1st = 10 points
2nd = 8 points
3rd = 6 points
4th = 4 points
5th = 2 points
6th = 1 point
For pole position you'll get 2 points, and for every lap that you cross the finish line in FIRST position you'll get 1 point. So if you lead the first race from start to finish you'll have 10+2+5=17 points. If you get lapped there will be 5 points deducted from your total and for every lap that you don't drive because of mechanical failure or DNF there will be -2 points.
The time will be 19:00 GMT (UK time) and 20:00 Europe time.
There will be practice in the first race, just for joining the race, but the rest of the race will not have practice. So if you need practice, do it offline in the next few days, you now know the schedule.
I don't know who wants to be host, but here are my specs for comparison
5000 download and 768 upload
PIV 3,2
ATI Radeon X800PE
2048MB RAM

Room name: Rally Sunday
Password: 0900

If you have suggestions or if I forgot something, let me hear.

Ruskus

In spite of some hosting problems, we sure had some nice races. We ended up using one of the dedicated servers, and we actually managed to finish the race program:HB: . We never got around to the issue of 'who will plan nxt syndays race' . I won't be able to join myself so............................

But.................. i will propose a race for saturday driving the new Porsche' 911 cup made for the CSGT65 mod. I will probably post in in the RSC forum, and if anybody would like to join, I will post it here to. I will make a new post later today with all the relevant links ect.
