Sorry about the number of pics.
Here are just a few of the 1100 pics I shot away.

I was in the media restricted area, so was very close to the action.

Pity the spikes weren't allowed on during the fun ;)

Exiting the pits, for some qualifying. If you look closely, you can see the hot exhaust gases pumping out.

The crowd sure loves Fanga

So they have D1 in NZ too? Is it just me or wasn't one of the cars a big Holden sedan? In any case it looks like a fun show and you definately got ring-side seats

Thanks for sharing

That big thing is a Nissan IIRC. Infiniti Q45. Although I think it was known by some other names too, Nissan Cima, or Nissan President??

A big floppy luxo-barge it was to begin with. They designed it to be a Lexus LS400 rival, but it flopped in the market in some countries. There was also a stillborn V12 Mazda luxury car that went oh-so-close to going on sale.

Ah, my mistake, I did think the headlights looked japanese but the side windows and wheelarches reminded me a bit of a US Caprice/Impala from the mid-90 so I thought it could be a Holden since I don't know them as well as AU Fords (AU as Ford Australia not AU Falcon).

Wazza will there be more pictures from this even on your great site later on as well as other new photographs?

http://wazza.nfscity.com/d1

page already up, and I'll post pics as I get them.

I had a massive migraine during/after the event, and ate dust a lot. As you can see, I was on the outside of the corner. Right where the smoke and dust got spat up at me.

There'll definately be more.

There was a Holden in there ;) (not these pics however)

I Just hate those huge exhaust tipes, style over function I guess
