If one ever needed convincing of the insanity of the leadership in that country, this should be more than enough proof.
North Korea has to realise that the world could mercilessly wipe it completely from the map tomorrow if it so desired. It should adopt a more peaceful and less confrontational stance towards the rest of the world and its neighbours.

Get a load of this part: "With undefeatable military strength..." Didn't someone mith a bad comb-over and a cheesy little moustache say almost the same thing 65 some odd years ago? :?
Honestly though, if the U.S. was to actually invade, it should be expected that NK would fight back. I have a hard time believing the North Korean troops would just stand there and do nothing, :rolleyes: so the speech (es) given is/are a bit redundant. Using the term "mercilessly crush" is a bit extreme and reeks af barbarism, don't you think? :nono:

It's no worse than NK threatening "black clouds of nuclear war are on the horizon". ;)
Okay, maybe it was a bit harsh, but NK would stand no chance in a full conflict. Strange state NK, and those recents parades and events just highlight it. It's like being transferred back in time to the Soviet Union, with Stalin in control.
The speeches of the North Korean leadership are always fun to read. :D

Things like that are necessary in a country such as North Korea (necessary for the leadership anyway). Its what you have seen before in other communist nations where public information is strictly limited and censored. The ceremony and speech is for "the people" not for the international audience. These guys know that their threats and bluster are all full of crap, and they know that we do as well, but most NK citizens do not. Their patriotism is fired or their fear of their leaders reinforced by such a show.
The US government will let it slide without much comment because it allows the NK leaders to save some face with their people. Allow the adversary their pride and they will temporarily cease to be a threat.
