Clan Vs Clan Challenge

Here are the basic rules.

Track choices – each clan picks 4 tracks each including the car they want to drive in order of priority. On race day the track choices are done in alternate order ie. 1no choice from clan A then 1no choice from clan B then no2 choice from clan A and so on. The starting order is determined by alphabetical order of clan name… eg. SK vs XR, SK is the first track to run. .

Teams - 4 member from each team in a pit to make 8 in the pit

Race Time - A race time has to be agreed by both parties using Pacific Standard Time is preferred. If a race time can’t be agreed on the race is cancelled. All members have to meet in the pit at the agreed time, a 10minutes-grace time is allowed. If a team is short a maximum of 1 member the clan can still choice to continue if they want, If they choose not to they forfeit the race meet.

Server Problems - If a race is running in an 8-man pit and 3 or more players fail to finish because of server disconnection problem then the race is rerun. If the pit is classed as dead and stats screen doesn’t not show but all players finish, the finish order is taken by the times on the top right of screen. After a race is finished and the pit is classed as dead a new pit will be started.

Finishing position verification – 1 person from each team needs to take a shot of finish screen. At the completion of the race meet all screens shots are require to be emailed or posted in the General forum at Total NFS.


Point system-
1st – 10 points
2nd – 8 points
3rd - 6 points
4th – 4 points
5th – 3 points
6th – 2 points
7th – 8th – 0 points

General stuff – Track chooses will be post in general NFS forum. Track chooses have to be submitted by clan captain or Co-Captain. Track chooses can be submitted any time but the cut off for track chooses is 12 hours before the race. 24 hours notice has to be give to reschedule race. Both teams are allowed a maximum of 3 interchanges. This means you can change a driver to a back up driver, each time a team racer leaves and is replaced by another racer this is class as an interchange. If the same 2 player swap back after a race this is class as a 2nd interchange. Final the most important part.

The team with the Most Points wins.

Dogz, that's actually a great Idea. Only problem I can see is the timezone thing. It is very nice of you to say "Pacific Standard" as that is my timezone and the timezone of the EA servers. We have made a few attempts at getting together some internal competition within Team Xtreme Racing (http://www.team-xr.com) but the timezone thing was very problematic. I'm not saying it's a "no-go", just suggesting that it might be very difficult. I will post a url to this thread in our Team Forums and see what kind of interest we can generate.

It all sounds brilliant and it is great fun when there are team challenges in the same pit, I have been in a few pits where we have divided the pit up into teams by selecting car colours (instant team selection) and all had a real ball enjoying it. Also the (UK)'ers often pick on me and kick butt on the Bahn, excellent and all done in the spirit of fun.

Now this proposal of Dogz sounds kinder serious (still a fun blast I'm sure) but I will leave it to my more senior and experienced [XR]'s to pick up on the challenge.

The problem with getting to grips with differing time zones Pacific/Eastern/Atlantic/Fullmoon/PMT Cycles/Big Ben Time/GMT/Morning/Night/Cupper Tea Times etc is just way beyond my comprehension and 10 mins is no way near long enough grace for ladies I would expect you to expect me to be late! lol

What ever happens please post any results in the forum they would make terrific reading.

the "vegetable" means "bad skill , not good skill," vegetable in chinese is "cai" LTS-CM always said "cai niao" , the "niao" is "bird" , here means people, guy. so the "cai niao" means "people who have not some skill in some area"

the idea is very good, i like it much, i remember that discussion about the very hard fight DC had with SK, and the fun the teams had -^
My team had its own events a while ago, something like a team cup every 14 days, and a very few team fights. But, to be honest, my team isnt alive anymore, regarding PU. Currently we think about a new game to fill the gap, and it seems it will be Nascar 2002. Nothing fix though.
So im very sorry, but im sure the eYe-team wont be in, at least not with 4 players necessary.

Oh, and Domagoj: a few words from here to you, self glorifying is usually the wrong way to get really respected.....
If you would ever experience the fun to flirt with Chey in pits online, or having talks full of humour with Sue, you would surely give away 2 seconds of your great times, believe me ;)

Chris/Silicon, this is such sad news.

I know I don't see a lot of [eYe] activity, and this is very sad. I don't know your team structure, hierarchy, but could some new members be recruited? Hmm, Ch[eYe]nne? ^_^

Seriously, though, [eYe] is one of the most resepected teams out there, even with little activity. Kulle, Turbo and yourself, you still race, yes? And Hiro? I'm sure if you wanted to open your roster you would have a great many applicants. I honor you and the [eYe] Clan, though I understand if you or others in the team have made the decision to "move on" to other venues. Still I cannot help but grieve a bit at the passing of another great group of racers and wonderful people from this arena.

Only problem that might occur with me (and possibly some others(if and when I even race)) is the timezone stuff but we'll see it we can manage it anyway...

It's a great idea, so where did "SPUN" go wrong? I don't see anything really different except maybe timing.

For those who weren't around when I tried to organize SPUN (Save Porsche Unleashed Now) it was very similar to this proposal except teams were made more so on mates, or preferably time zones, not necessarily clans.

It was also designed on a 10 rounds season with points scoring and a ladder. Each team would have 5 races against their challenger for that week.
I think we got four teams of 4 when I had designed the schedule for ten teams :( We waited forever for more to sign up so I cut it back to five teams.

Most folks were scared of the clan names "WC" and the new forming "DC" (daughter team) respectively. But people didn't take the time out to realize that some clan members would be racing against their clan comrads and everyone stood a good chance of being in a winnng team.

I think about three rounds were played but "zone times" were an issue with everyone. Team A's suggested hours didn't suit team B's hours etc.

Good luck with your team vs. team clashes. I honestly hope you get enough folks -^

I cant answer your questions, in fact i havent met any of my team mates on the server lately, and i didnt ask in our own message board who is still active in PU. The names you mentioned will be the only ones i think, maybe Bender as addition, not sure though. I cant speak for Turbo, Kulle or Hiro, but im still active... in fact i just bought a new wheel last saturday due to some annoying probs with my old one. Minor problem for me is that im not used to FFB, i still didnt found the right buttons to disable it without losing the 'steer-back-to-middle-feature' i loved on my old Logi. This result in less online appearance, i feel a little bit like a newbie now, if you now what i mean ;) Couldnt believe that there are still new walls to hit, but found a lot ;)

About teams, i cant recommend a team for a special game if there are more or less 3 or 4 active players in, right ? If our usual suspect would ask me, i would recommend XR, DC, SK or AR, active teams, great members -^ And he would feel 'at home' much more in a team which speak his own language ;)

Im glad some finally said what I have been thinking.

Domagoj, I have no doubt that you are very fast, but constant bragging is not the best way to win friends within the racing community. Maybe instead of trying to pull all of us into your offline contests you should join us online for a different challenge. Racing offline for 12 hours straight to produce perfect times is a lot different than going fender to fender with other racers, especially if you are dealing with the pressure of racing someone who can match you turn for turn. You will find that there are many racers who can do just that. You might be further surprised by the number of taillights that you see. That is why (in real life) the race doesnt end after the qualifying laps. So join us all online and get your name into the stats the same way we all have to. I think that you would enjoy it very much, and we would be glad to see you.:)

Great response all.

They have been 2 of these events held before. The first with LR VS DC after LR were bragging about being the fastest team around. (DC won by about 8 points) and the 2nd was SK Vs DC I think some SK bragging was going on like normal… that was a close one with after 8 race’s the score was locked up and had a tie.

Chey you will be surprised one who will show up to any event like this no matter what timezone you’re in. Personaly I was up at 6am Sunday to participate. For non Clan people if you have yourself and 3 friends you are more than welcome to join in. Domagoj you got 3 friends??…maybe 2 cause you’re so good.

Anyway the rules are there and open for discussion

Get together with your clan and or friends and start working out who you want to challenge and want track you want to do.

Hey Chey, it is not uncommon in common usage of the "bastardised" language we know as English to use shortening of phrases. However, using ninety three in 993 is actually lenghening it :nono:

LOL - we colonials feel compelled to teach others how to speak the mother tongue.

An interesting historical fact:

The residents of Pitcairn Island are believed to speak English as it was spoken in the Eighteenth century as they were isolated for so long after the Bounty incident. To put it mildly, they sound weird by todays standards. English as spoken in New Zealand (aka Wazzaland) is very similar to that in many ways.

Deuxme, I couldn't agree with you more. Quite frankly we're having this very same discussion on our Team board here. I know that I will advocate participation over necessarily winning any day. After all, we all know XR is the best team, so we've got nothing to prove (yadayadayadabragbragbrag) Actually, Just kidding. I do believe that though as far as Team Xtreme Racing goes, I will advocate for as many to participate as wants to, probably objecting to Dogz "Substitution" rule in order to see that through. All a part of the negotiation process, I'm sure. I would rather see us have a good time than us bring in the points, just my thoughts on it, but there it is.

No points, well that just normal racing on the servers, racing with 4 of your team members against a 2nd team that is nerve racking. No "lets to that racing again", one mistake and your in last place. One chance One track... heart pounding stuff I tell you. The air in the pit you can cut with a knife. But DC are used to it we have never been beaten...... There is a fine line between pushing the limit or finishing for some points...

Dear Sir DC_Deuxme...

I couldn't agree more that I hope you get to participate in the team challenge. I do however, suggest that you stay away from DC_Dogz if you do so participate, evidently he is under the mistaken assumption that you can slice gasses with a sharp object. It would be wise to steer clear of such a person until the proper authorties arrive who are trained and equipped to deal with the situation.

So live well, DC_Deuxme, oppose the tyranny of the Order of the Alphabet for it corrupteth all it doth -- doth, uh... corrupteth! Yeah!

I think the whole idea is great. I have more fun racing in other teams pits as it is. It would be great to get a clan bash going. I am sure you will have support from the XR team in this. I do not however like the alphabetical thing.

I’m sure you scared the SK team and others to……. On the alphabetical :idea: what about I toss a coin and you call it for what track to start with. lol

I’m open to ideas if other teams want to add or remove something in the rules put it forward.

Also, since you do seem to have some experience with this (and I know how much you love slicking atmospheric gasses with sharp objects) could you somehow work out some rules where the less, shall we say, "dominating" players can race each other, clan to clan? I know DC_Deuxme expressed interest in racing, saying he doesn't consider himself all that fast (though, personally, I think he has far greater skills and abilities then he credits himself with) and some racers in my team have expressed similar interests.

:idea: I would think it would be fun to arrange of the cuff challenges at any time when more then a couple of team members are in the same pit, so when ever you see an [XR] pit please feel free to challenge us and see what kind of response you get. Clearly this is more for the fun of it and only very simple rules should be applied - say best of 6 races with scores allocated as 8 points for 1st, 7 for 2nd and so on - each side to have track choice 3 times. Team with most points gets to win.

This has not been officially endorsed by the [XR]'s just me putting forward an idea!

Chey wish I had your glamorous way with words, Yes Vic unfortunately has been extremely busy with work and other things and Usual has stepped down as co-captain and our web page (unlike yours) has not been updated. I wanted to breathe some new life into the game I love. This I must say this is my first online game I have played and have been lucky enough to join the best team that races online.

Sadly some of our very good drivers have left for greener non cheat pastures, but while we still have clans like SK XR AR EYE DR and others why not get something going, we are all friends here and like a little …as we say in Oz “G up “

I do suggest you challenge an easier opponent like maybe the SK’s than trying to bait me to challenge the XR team. We DC have nothing to prove has we have never be beaten online challenge and on clan stats only for a short time. I do recall the SK’s on their high horse about being the best damn clan around. That might have been true for a week but they fell away like all the rest, we have seen teams come and go and still live by our Motto.

good to see you taking over the spot. But i have to tell you. We still are missing one of our racers in our stats which gives us more points than the DCs at this time and for about 2 or 3 weeks now. I also like to point out that Mattias and Fog account for 31000 of your points. they are indeed great racers just like our Chey is. But we have 5 racers in the top 15 in points compared to your 2. We have 6 in the top 20 compared to your 4. Again this doesnt include one of our other racers as i cannot seem to get DR king to put him in. He has been very busy. So you see You might have been the best team. but we are next up to bat.
Again this is not anything against the DC team. I think you are all wonderful, In fact I have the utmost respect for you guys. Probably the cleanest racers in the game. I have always tried to base my own style after one of your guys. that being Deuxme. he has always helped me and get me where i am now.

this ones for the DC team. May we all be the best we can be.

Awe come on Waz, DCEpyon uses the keyboard and he's mighty quick. I started out on the keyboard (way way back) and was..hmm well Epy's quick.

Rex, I think there's a big difference between someone with WRs and can kick but in 1 or 2 cars and a good competitor in a team race where all the marbels are on the table at once. Team competition will bring (and has brung) a new aspect to the game. Being in a pit with 7 other fast racers driving all the same car on some track knowing that this is it, this race counts, everyone will know what the outcome of this race will be, brings some extrodinary pressure that is unexpected. Most people now-adays race maybe 20-30 races per session I would guess. One little 1-2 minute race really doesn't mean much. But when the points are being tallied, you'll see who has the level head, who can take the pressure and who can be consistant...fast is no longer the top factor.

This competition is sounding more and more fun to me as time rolls on. I want to be involved, so here’s the deal. I am putting together a team of privateers (a contradiction in terms if I’ve ever heard one) for the purpose of jumping into this contest with both feet. I don’t intend for this to be a permanent team or anything; I don’t realistically have time for that right now. Criteria for membership is as follows:

1) You have to be at least as fast as me. I do not intend to be the team’s only hope for victory.:eek:

2) You have to versatile in your abilities. In other words, if you are only good at Pyrenees backwards with the 95 turbo, you won’t do the team much good.

Once I gather at least 3 other team members, we will get our act together and challenge another team. It’s as easy as that. Well, until the actual racing begins… If nothing else it will be lots of fun.:)

@Bug - It's true that Matt and Boris account for mucho points and the rest of us have slid down the pole a little ways... but shoot, I for one haven't raced at all for about 3 months, and there's a few others who haven't been racing either.
Consider the fact that we haven't been racing at all, and still retain some top spots... )=) (BragaBragaBlowMyOwnHorn...Muuaaahahahaha) :D

Schools winding down shortly, I'll be jumping back into the fray (provided there are still good pits, and I can keep from getting disgusted by hacks), and I WILL climb into the top 10 or 15 again.

It seems like any higher than that requires more psychotic single-minded addictedness (my own word) than I seem to be willing to put into it.
