Car is near finish, so if everything goes well you will be able to drive that beauty in a few days.
Consider me sufficiently blown away :HB:

That certainly looks good. How many polygons on the wheels and brakes alone? ^_^

Krom says 55,000 for the body and 6350 or so for each wheel. I hope my rig can run this work of art! =[ :look:

55,000 polygons is a huge amount.
I hope it has good LOD's..
Lucky I'll be getting a 9600XT soon enough then.
Absolutly AWSOME!!!!
His X5 also had about 55.000 + 4x5000, and that did not have an interiour ;)
It actually looks even better on screen, I had to resize the pictures.
And no worries Ric, I ran it on full quality settings full AA & AF and it did not stutter on my 9800 PRO
I glad you like it, despite extreme poly count.
There is no LOD`s by the way. I`ll try to make em before release, may be ...
Only thing stopping me from releasing 996 is engine sound. Or better say missing engine sound.

What's about the NfS5 engine sound?? I know it may exist better ones, but why not try it if U* won't find any other!
Or what's about GTR? Am not sure if that Porsche is a Turbo...

We've tried to extract the NFS5-sound but couldn't, and GTR is a new licensed and copyrighted game so using their sound is probably illegal, and you're right, it's not the low-revving Turbo but the high-revving GT3 race-engine so the sound is like comparing a Mercedes 4-banger to a Ferrari V12.

Conversions from Simbin's GTR will very likely attract swift action from the authors.
Do not attempt any conversions from it. People with affiliations to Simbin do look at these forums occasionally.

Ah well, the world of licenses...
Well, isn't here anybody who has a 911 996 Turbo in his/her garage!? 8|
