Outruns

PLease tell me,once you win an outrun,will the specific opponent disappear from the game or is the possibility that you can have a outrun against the same car more than once after you beated him in a previous outrun( PLay Station 2)?

No, once you defeated an opponent, it will stay in the game. I believe they appear in the map randomly. I once outran a guy in a Focus, because it slammed into a car. I raced back to beat it again, but this time a woman picked up the phone when I hit enter. So, the driver voices are picked randomly aswell.

I do the outruns on the 27 freeway, going counter clockwise (turning left). If I slow down in 3rd gear and just keep circling eventually I'll end up with 2 or 3 of the AI cars bunched up together. However, once I chanllenge one, the other 2 go into flashing reset mode then dissappear.

I use 3 methods for winning the outnruns. Spin the AI cas around by smacking the rear end of their car. Going off and back on the freeway at the Airport off-ramp on-ramp. Taking the city center offramp all the way to the barrels, then u-turning left, and taking the other city center onramp to get bank on to the freeway.

I once was so evil, I came up from 150+ mph and hit the outrun car in the rear, as it was flipping (its roof was facing the road), I hit the enter key starting the race and since my car (mustang) was still going at over 80 mph in the same direction, i floored it and got a 8 second outrun, lol, so mean and evil. It was on the highway.

I've read of 6 second outruns where the AI car was slammed into another car or unmovable object just as you hit enter.

my fastest outrun was with the tiburon, in middle city core: i got right behind it and hit enter, as i accelerated, my opponent spinned and hit a corner edge, 5 seconds and a bit more i think...

I got lucky once and managed to hit enter as I was whizzing by the opponent on the freeway. Right as the race was accepted, he hit a taxi and went for a sail down the offramp. It was only about 2 1/2 seconds before the race was over, heheh.
