Hidden Races / number of races - spoilers

First the race count issue. In Stage 1 there are 8, 2 normal and 1 hidden before you go to the car shop, and 5 after. In Stage 2, there are 23 normal events, and 4 hidden events, so you get rep points for 27 events. One of the normal events is a 2 race URL, so it's actually 28 races. Some of the races you get depend on the sponsor you choose. After completing stage 2 and going to the world map, there are 35 entries but some of these are duplicates. I picked Yokohama as a sponsor and ran the 27 races including the 4 hidden. Afterwards, I found 4 tracks on the world map I hadn't raced, due to which sponsor I had chosen. I then ran all of the "not complete" races from the world map, but only 3 of them added any rep points or bank credit.

Next the hidden tracks, if you've found others for Stage 2 or 3, please respond, I'm trying to make a complete list here.

I'm only up to stage 3, but there seems to be a pattern of 2 hidden races per area for stage 2 and 3. I just included captured pictures, which include a mini map to give you an idea of where the hidden races are.

hey guys! there r some hidden races in stage 3 but i cant find ne of em ...if u did plz do lemme know ..i finished all da races on da normal world map (pressin m key) and da world map in da garage ..now i m stuck as i have no money left and cant race wit neone ..plz do lemme know as i m tryin to finish dis game ..thanx!

You already ran the races from the world map in the garage? It's a little late to tell you this now, but if you interrupt and restart a race that you run from the garage world map, you get rep points and a lot of money.

Have you done all the outruns yet? These will give you free performance and visual upgrades that could let you continue to the next stage.

You could do a web search for

need speed underground 2 trainer

and download a trainer that will boost your money.

um... the last one on stage 5... i saved it and it was named s4ha... which was the same as the last hidden race in stage 4 that u posted... is it a wrong post or is it really in the same place... thanks a lot...

One annoying aspect of NFSU2 are the messages that imply there are hidden races in the "airport" area. There are never any hidden races there, at least not on the PC version.

yeah... hey i completed all, well all that you posted anyway and there are still calls that there are hidden races in the hotel plaza area... i searched around but i didnt find any... does this happen to anyone?

The calls about the hidden races never stop, even after all of them are done and gone.

You need to upgrade your car visually to 1 star, the go to the special event star on your map. This will unlock a final URL event to complete the stage.

The hidden events aren't the issue here. You need to upgrade to a 3 star car for this stage.

The start of this thread has pics of every hidden event. Look at the map in the lower left coner of each pic to see where the events are.

The fastest car is the Corolla, but for career mode, which car you use probably doesn't matter. You should just stick with one car though, as it costs too much to try and upgrade two cars.

I used two vehicles for career mode. The Corolla, and the Navigator for SUV races. I only put peformance upgrades on the Navigator, and only at the end of each stage. I only did the visual upgrades on the Corolla, and only did the bare minimum upgrades to complete each stage.

You can't change parts in the garage until you've gone to a shop in career mode and purchased the part.

This should cause a star (dvd) to appear on the map. Go to the star and take a photo (or get a magazine cover). After this a final URL race will appear on the map, and running this will complete the stage.

Yes, you need to get up to 6 star car for stage 4.

You'll need a 10 star car, so go ahead and do that one. It's possible you've already picked up the 9 star dvd. Your game may have a bug if the dvd stars are not appearing. Are you pressing the "M" key to look at the online map to see the stars?
