I am just curious if the GTO usually becomes available before the Mustang. I have heard others here talk about owning the Stang, but not the GTO. I still have no Mustang available, but do indeed own the GTO. Others?

It came after the Mustang for me. :)

Strange... So I am assuming that it can be a bit random, or perhaps maybe a certain URL race unlocks a given car, and I just haven't done the Mustang race yet. Anyway, I am glad that the GTO is available, the thing is a monster. I would like a Stang too though, heh, I hope it gets unlocked pretty soon.

Yeh, it might be random, it depends on which car the sponsor you gives or which car belongs to which URL race. If race #3 will unlock the Mustang for example and race #9 unlocks the GTO and you do #9 first, you'll get the GTO first. Also I once got a message I got two new vehicles in the lot, but nothing was there. I had to wait until I got 100% until the Skyline and the WRX appeared. They are stallions.

I saw the GTO available first, but waited to get the Mustang and am I glad I did it is a real beauty, the V8 throbbing and barking like it does is FAB!!!

The GTO sounds better IMO, because it's a real v8 ie OHV and larger then 5 litres :p

ive stonked my GTO (*cough* Monaro *cough*) with every performance part and put the best exhaust tip on it and she sounds like a bloody monster, and goes like one too. it is 100% unbeatable in drift mode.

Said nicely with bias, eh? ;)

But the nicest sounding big V8 engines (IMO) are the Mercedes Benz M119 series (5 litre, 4 valve per cylinder, in normally aspirated and twin-turbo versions), and the modern supercharged V8 engines as found in stuff like the SLR.

As long as it's cross plane, and not flat plane like the lotus and ferrari engine, they make a VERY nice grunty noise at idle, as Commander knows, having owned more then a fer 400's.
