evening all
i've just had my first full run of nfsug2 and its awesome. as most of you if not all that i don't like ricers but since i started messin' with nfsu2 i've become addicted to it...specially when the wife is @ work and i'm on my own its awesome...it took me about 3 hours to realise to get into the garage you need to press F1 duh.

i'm gonna take a look @ the first version to see what the story line is...i'm still a muscle head but i love this game..i've even taken notice of cars on the street in real life...that have been "tuned" i'm driving a nissan 240sx in game now..beginner's ride

I sort of like some things with it, but you can spend forever going around in circles. My ride of choice so far is Frank N.O's favourite car, the Peugeot 206. :D It appears to be a little quicker than some of the other entry level cars, with okay handling.

I am quite impressed with the game too. A lot of thought went into the gameplay, and I can't really pick on anything, I really like the game. For us muscle heads, we can take solace in knowing the Mustang and GTO are available down the road. I think a fully upgraded GTO will own the dragstrips! So far, my GTO only has level 1 performance upgrades with no Nitrous, and it still goes to beat hell.

chris... you can't go in circles when dragging or sprintng (for the most part) :P

PS- a SRT4 Neon, Integra Type R and S2000 shoulda been available... Type R and S2000 from NFSU1 and Neon (for NFSU2 SRT4) but thats nothing big... I love the Mustang GT.

In the free-run mode, the GTO seems to easily win any of those out-run contests with its good top-speed. Only the Skyline GT-R will match it in that respect. (although the GT-R should be a much quicker car, if real life performances are considered).

The only time GTO gets bothered is when lots of slow corners are involved.

Yeah, but outright n/a and more cubes will always dominate! :P

I can't get it yet as i said, but I looke forwards to being able to get the GTO is my goal, as long as you can strap a supercharger on it instead of turbo's first, it's even better.

Turbos seem to be the only way in this game. ;)

Still, a large twin-turbocharged engine isn't a bad thing, look at SL65 AMG for instance. What can not be done with the engine in that thing doesn't need doing. ;)

I've come up against a couple of the Mustangs in some races, but my tuned Peugeot 206RC seemed to be easily quick enough to deal with them. The normal 206RC is quite swift in real life anyway, with 133kW (180bhp) in a light-weight package.

I've got now a Hyundai Tiburon V6 now, and I'm regretting getting that. It goes a bit quicker in top speed, but doesn't seem to have the Peugeots handling prowess.

The MX-5 is no use anymore, since it seems slower than it used to be in UG1.

I thought the 206 in the game was the S16/GTI with a 136hp/100kw 2L engine?
A testdrive in a german show demonstrated that the 206RC is to the normal GTI what the GT2 is to the 996 Turbo  (=> NOT for the untrained driver).

It actually is the 206RC, aka 206 GTI 180, or it should be.

On the back of the box, it mentions Peugeot 206 GTI (2L 180hp engine), and also Peugeot 106 3 portes (année 2002).

I love my mazda miata mx5... it has 260 hp and is a blast to drive, and since its RWD, great handling and not that much skidding or sliding... top speed is around 180 mph so far.

Damn it, why did I choose the wrong car. Only played career mode for about 30-45min.. Just got to the stage where I am now sponsored. But I'm driving a '86 Corolla. Thought I could be a drift king.. Well a slow drifter anyway. :(

when buying the car... Look at teh bottom stats of it first ;) I chose the 240sx the first time I tried and upgraded to other cars but I didn't build up my style enough... so I'm starting over with a Mx5 till I get teh mustang...

Chris, As I told you in a previous thread, You should stick with the 206 until the Celica comes along...

But then again you will get the TT a bit later…. I suggest you get the Celica and tune it until the TT is available… When it is you can trade in the Celica for it… I suggest going with either the TT or the Celica until the 3000GT shows up in the car lot…. You can go with that if you wish, because if you reached this point then the Skyline is not far away… I have the Skyline, and IMO the 3000GT is way better….

Also if you look at my thread whit the map, you can get 10 Stars easily… ;)

I'm actually wondering if I can ditch the Hyundai, just sell it completely. It's not that fast.

I've got the Celica now, and it does seem a good deal quicker.

You cant sell the car, but can trade it in for a Stock.... If I could sell, I would have not made the mistake of getting the Supra and the Is300

In that case it might be better to keep it..

I wanted to sell the cars I got, but I couldn't... And even after spending a shitload of money on some cars, they still were crap....

w00t? From Andy?

Anyway, from what I've heard the AE86 in game is not accurate and people now adays only really get it because of initial D or they really like the car and like the trickiness of it, the S13 onwards models are A LOT better for drifting in for beginers.

The type of supercharger I was thinking about were rootes or twin screw blowers, tonnes of torque, straight away.

But Turbo's do the same thing, but from 2000rpm or so.
