There have been a number of MOMO users with problems with the momo wheel and PU using split axis, myself included. On the driver CD supplied with the wheel in one of the Directories there is a utility for clearing calibration. I used this and cleared all controller calibrations and then proceeded to install the latest driver 4.11(I think) after the setup my split axis and it works fine. I also did a test on zone with split and combined axis to test the brakes and they both performed the same. Previously when choosing spilt axis my Gas and Brake would be suck on 67% so I only had 33% gas and 33% brakes… needless to say didn’t work to well. There is also available a centering program for the wheel from the wingman web site. I also had problem with my first MOMO were the wheel was pointing 3 degrees to the right and phoned Logitech were they said the item was faulty but even the second wheel was about 1 degree out. It is obvious now it was the drive and calibration problem and not hardware.

Good luck hope it works out for some of you momo uses that are having trouble like Alrik

Dear Dogz thanks for posting the info on the Momo I think I must have been lucky coz mine seems to be fine, one thing I do though is everytime I boot up the PC, is to, go into game controller options and select properties then turn the wheel full left and right and press both pedals this seems to set the calibration consistently. If I don't do this the wheel response is too quick in PU.

In some ways it would have been nice if I had a problem then I could blame the wheel for bad races lol

Best wishes

Why wouldn't you want that extra response? Does it max out at the same angle of turning with full cranking (with instant full left or right with a touch or the wheel), or is it even more sensitive? If it's even moresensitive, then it's essential you keep it on max. setting, rcause that's gonna shave off time...

Of course it might not help anything except max out steering instantly, but anyways...

huh Domagoj?

so when you turn a little, ur steering is full?

my joystick... i have set quite sensitive.. but it has a largish deadzone, because my joystick is all loose. So after moving over about 10 degrees, it suddenly goes quite sharp..

mmmmm brake is a big button on front, and i have a little throttle slider for acceleration.

i tried a wheel at the arcades playing Daytona, and Sega Rally 2... and its soooo much easier.. the car goes exactly where I want it. And then at my friends house ( a girl..) shes a car loving fan.. and she has a new MS FFB wheel and GP3.. anyway, i raced it.. at first i was very unorganised, where I couldn't get myself used to the pedals .. but the steering itself was very easy.

It looks like I will be buying this wheel when I get some money.. NZ$330 that is.. or $US140

Sue that is standard with the MOMO.. It doesn't use the old precalibration before boot up like the old Logitech's. You don't need to do that though, while you’re in a pit or just before the race starts turn you wheel full left and right and it will be right. I think the way it works is if you don't do this and turn the wheel say 90 degrees to the right it then splits the difference and thinks 45 degree is center until the wheel is turned full lock both directions. I’ve had it quite a few times requiring a quick full left and right while racing off the start.

BTW the file is located on the driver CD under x:\Techsupt\ClrCalib\ClrCalib.exe

PS - I STILL love the smell of My Leather MOMO

I don't own a MOMO steering wheel but I own a MAd Catz 8 button steering wheel with pedal which I got 4 60 bucks over $400 for a MOMO from electronics Boutiqe or DSE I find the mad Catz is good for just playing car games Test Drive 6 it is realy responsive. an in Le mans it is super sensitive and i kicked it a few 2 many time but it works and I'm getting the wheel covered in leather!
