Here is a little video clip I put together showing the Boeing 737-800 landing at Arturo Merino Benitez International Airport, Santiago de Chile:

http://www.totalnfs.net/cpd/737-800-landing.zip (7.5mb)

Extract it from the ZIP, and load it in Windows Media Player. Switch on captions and you'll see a description of my landing.

My landing was a little similar to Concorde style, but not quite as nose-up in attitude as it would have been with the "speedbird". Concordes landings happen quite quickly - it doesn't have much lift so it must keep moving fairly fast.

Anyway, enjoy. :)

I would have gotten FS04 if my system was up for it.... Fs02 ran fine but after a while I got tired of playing....

The 737-800 by the way wasn't included with FS2004 - it only included the 737-400. This 800 model is from Avsims website.

It's a lot nicer to fly than the 400. The engines have more power, and the 800 has a much longer range. (quoted at 3300 nautical miles).

Nice landing, Chris. -^ I tried FS98 once, but my flying is worse than my driving. ^_^ I can get off the ground o.k. but I get lost in the sky, and can't land worth c**p.
If you're ever flying into Pearson Intl. (YYZ, T.O.) from the east, give me a wing waggle just after the 401. :D (If you have it)

Heh, the people with properties in front of the runway, on the final inner marker, could call you, to trim their hedges. You were scarily low! ^_^
Still smooth though.
ILS approach or visual?

Wazza: I was low, but didn't hit any trees. It was a visual landing. No ILS available for that particular approach. I didn't know the area either, nor anything much about the airport except that the runway was pretty damn long.

[SS]Ayce: In FS2004, we have the GPS navigation to help with that, and for the most part, the plane will fly itself to the destination. I take over only at landing, and take-offs. But the rest is all autopilot.
