Monaro, maybe you should get involved with V8 Shakes again, (I think in the past you've been involved with V8C right?)

yeah i spose, whos in charge of the V8C section again?

i just dont really make skins anymore, and i dont know if anyone still wants them. i'm getting pretty quick at making them, that tasman one was very fast, even with the silver fern and stuff made by hand.

Monaro, im in charge of the v8c section, if you remember recently i updated it but hardly use it anymore.
But you can take over the reigns if you want to...
Yo ualso continue to make skins whereas I havent made any for months/year.

shane: i really dont want to take over the reins, for the reason that i wouldnt know what to do. ive really stopped making skins as well, apart from the kmart bathurst and the tasman motorport requested. the thing is about making them is you make 3 or 4 and everyone wants to know why you didnt make the whole season.

if anyone wants any requests im happy to oblige however a 2004, 2005 and so on full season is no way possible.

yeah, well that's understandable, how are your exams going btw? I know most year 12's are basically done.

True, so very true. I think that they should spread out exams over the year. Saves putting all this pressure on a kid. I mean while taking exams some people are still 17. They can't vote or purchase alcohol leaglly so in my books they are still a kid.

I was 17 when I did mine ;)

Personally I dont see what the big thing is with them though, I mean I was always told by everyone bar my parents that you have to get good marks to go to uni, my parents told me to do what I wanted and that you dont have to go to uni to succeed in life

Urm well I got average marks, which I expected, and I didnt go to uni, in acctual fact I was at Sydney Uni during the week fixing someones machine! Some professor type person put a tray in upside down and it jammed because theres a little metal pin that when the trays put in the proper way is pushed up into a sensor that tells the machine the trays there

Upside down however the pin drops down and locks it in!

so I was at Sydney Uni, took me 3 minutes to remove this tray, and they got charged $138 call out fee, $55 extra because they put it through as an emergency call (so their charged extra to have their job appear next on my list) and I threw in a quick 'check and clean' for free because they were scratching their heads as to why it cost $193 plus $19.30 GST for 3 minutes work!

The best bit is by the Bathurst weekend next year I'll be a qualified Electrotechnology Technician, Customer Service Representative, but before the end of this year I'll already be a certified technician for a well known laser printer manufacturer (their printers are used hugely in businesses)

Had I started the job earlier then I'd be qualified earlier (12 months it takes)

Remember tho I left school this time last year and got stuffed around in 2 and a bit jobs!

You dont need uni to go places  Acctualy ive heard a few people do 4 year courses that cost many thousands of dollars, only to find the jobs were there 4 years ago but now theyve got the piece of paper theres no jobs left!

I could write another essay about it but I wont ;)

you really dont know how you went, i mean i think i did well but i dont know what the exam moderators are after.. true, I thought I did ok but I acctually did quite shit in the exams, luckily overall I was ok and in NSW your given 2 marks, one for your exam, one for overall which is calculated through your assesments from throughout year 11 / 12

exams arent what really matters anyway, its all about schoolies.

speaking of schoolies i sold my CD player to my mum for 3 slabs of stella artois, how bloody good is that!

I feel your pain mate, i'm going through the same thing at the moment.
Already done three and got another three to go, the next ones on Thursday so theres a pretty legnthy break till the next one. ;)

That's the system WA is switching over to in a couple of years time, well something similar to that what they are trying to introduce is to rid of the Uni Entrance Exams alltogether, instead to access you over year 11 and 12.

In my parents day (the 70's) when they were in high school, all thwe work you did all year meant jak shit, but exam marks meant everything, i hate doing homework, i do the work that I need to do to understand it then stop, I don't see the point.

But I know what I'm gonna do, an apprenticeship with a diesel mechanic, preferably cat, cos they service and make everything, and you need year 12 and good marks in maths and science and english basically, so I'm gonna have to work hard next year. The thing is about not dropping out the end of this year is basically because until I can drive it is pointless because the weird hours and stuff I'd have to get up, and the fact public transport in my immediate area sucks means I'm stuck here.

i wouldnt mind doing that VQ, sounds pretty good to me except if you are on call like one of my sisters friends is, if some wanker truckie has a problem he calls the mechanics and they call him at whatever hour it is. in his first few months he wouldnt go 2 days without another middle of the night call but after they got some more apprentices and full timers the calls started to end.

good pay though..

Good luck with them Brad.

Sometimes the way they do the Exams here makes you wonder why people struggle. Some people have 3 Exams in one day with only 50 minutes between each.
