I read on http://v8shakes.racerplanet.com/index.htm that Shane is making
the 2004 Bathurst livery used on the Kmart Racing Team Commodore,
does anybody know if he has or anybody else has made it ?

Isn't it great to see Greg Murphy & Rick Kelly do back-to-back wins
in the most important event of the year. We all know people remember
who won Bathurst's and not so much championships, so if Ambrose does
win the championship, in a few years time it'll be forgotten. ^_^
But Greg's and Rick's win will never ever be forgotten...

As always, I'll appreciate any help...
Catchya guys.

*y2k checks* erm yes he did mention the new livery but not skins

Maybe someone might but I wouldnt hold your breath, unless you want to turn blue in the face!

Yes the victory is one to remember, especially when you consider Skaifes got 4 bathursts, and ricks already got half that at almost half the age!

If Rick can keep it up we may just have another Brock on our hands, but to do that he needs to stay in a good team with a good co driver, so I wouldnt count on a 2005 victory :(

I love that scheme, spiderman looks awsome on it.

Murph has full confidence in Rick, but not many other people do even though he has proven himself enough now, Murph has written about it in his latest write up in Street Machine

speaking of skins can some1 give me a brief description on how 2 make them, not real v8 skins but custom skins
wat im having trouble with is that all my skins r saved as Microsoft Picture It files, i open a blank skin with photoshop and then i cant save it in a way that it will show up in the skin manager or so it looks like all the other files so :S
it would be great if some1 could give me some help

also speaking of photo shop i have a fair idea of using it.i can use all the colours except whit when i apply white to a blank skin it looks crap unlike other colours like red which looks good and with the red i can see the door handles and details but when i apply the white i see nothing

are you using layers? a white layer (although not really needed if using a blank skin as it is whiteish anyway) on multiply will lighten up the whole car, red the same

the key is new layer, multiply.

What i am finding is that if you save it as picture it.
Than find the file and open it with paint then save as..
whatever.targa into textures then it will work

when i save it form photoshop to a picture file i.e jpg it works cool but when i open it up in paint then try to save it it only comes up picture files to save as

monaro

Can you not manually save it as .TGA or use picture it there must be something on your comp that will read it.

I made 2 skins for V8C, one was a poor arse excuse for a skin, the only good thing on it was the VB logog on the bonnet and the other was a fully Guinness sponsored car. The Guinness one is on Aussie Muscle. I also made some skins for Nascar 4. Some good, others shite.

cheers cobba ^_^

Never knew how to exactly do that until just then, not a bad way of painting the cars. I used to achive a similar effect by lightening the opacity and flow on the paintbrush, so the background layer was slightly visible. Either that, or paint a solid colour over the car, then copy the "grey" car over the top whilst ahving that at about 20% opacity, making it a bit "see-through". Not as good result of course, but it wasnt bad.

its a neat trick, photoshop is very very useful the more you get accustomed to it. the problem is most use photoshop as they would MS paint, using the paint bucket and a pencil, and playing with opacities of fills on the same layer.
