Check it out at http://www.sleepy-fish.com/other_veh.htm

Big download but it has Ferrari Enzo, Porsche Carrera GT, Pagani Zonda, Jaguar XJ220, Ferrari F40 & McLaren F1 in it

JC seems to really love the Enzo untill he starts comparing it to the last generation of Supercars

I can guess the comments about the F1, oh, it isn't exciting, etc..

The F140 is pretty good, but it won't give you the same rush of adrenalin as an F1.

I don't agree with JC on many points, but his right. The McLaren F1 & Ferrari F40 are in a different class to those newcomers, but you need balls to drive them. Though the Enzo is stunning to watch in action. I'd be happy to have a go in any off them..

So, does it reset the top gear lap-record?

Off course it does :D

I see that now. :) It did it by a big margin, and yet it was a bit of an untidy lap, nearly locked the brakes at one point, got a bit twitchy, lost probably 0.2 of a second in that alone. it could have been even quicker still.

Amazing. It doesn't look so fast, but it is.

I have to admit, for me, it'd be the F1 I'd choose, just for the ungodly rush of power. But if I could have both, that'd be what I'd want. :)

My list would be

1. Enzo
2. F40
3. F1
4. Carrera GT
5. XJ220

and I would pass on the Zonda, its just ugly from every angle

Well if were choosing :)

1. F1
2. F40
3. XJ220
4. Enzo
5. Carrera GT

But if one of those had to be my daily driver^_^ , day in, day out, the Carrera GT would be first choice. :)

Anyone notice JC's lie about the F40?

It does NOT do 0-100km/hr (60mph) in 3.2 seconds. Absolutely not. The best anyone has achieved with it so far as I know is 3.7 seconds. And that is a lot slower.

The F1 will do that 3.2 seconds though, something none of the others will achieve. I think that is probably what he meant to say before his anti-Mclaren, pro-Ferrari bias kicked in.

Funny how he reckons it is twitchy, the steering is heavy, and the front end vague, yet a race-driver will say the exact opposite, reckoning it to be "so alive, alive!" In stark contrast to JC's comments.

What he really should be saying is I don't like it because I haven't got the skills required to drive it flat-out.

hehe yes JC is so bad ^_^

As a daily driver I would get a Mercedes SLR :) It blends in very nicely with traffic and is not as obvious as any of the above :D

I saw one on the Autobahn some days ago (with Monaco number plates), it was approaching from behind and I was thinking "hey a new SLK with the fake SLR snoot", just when it passed I saw it was the real deal

just watched it then, had an exam today so was the first time i found the time.

the lap was brilliant, pink floyd blaring and the oversteer the guy was getting. who was the driver?

jeremy really couldnt say that the F40 is better than the enzo, i mean sure its got very busy computer assistance in it but as he said, the F40 is a bloody go kart with a turbo V8, not a refined throughbred race car like the enzo. even just watching him driving either of them he was only happy with the F40 because he could control it happily, he was just scared of the enzo.

Jeremy just doesn't like anything computerised. Normally, if it was any other car, he would have slagged off at the paddle gear change, but because it was the Enzo Ferrari, his opinion amazingly changed.

I also notice that the F1 still hardly looks any older than what it did when it was brand new. It still has that look about it, especially seen from a distance. It is sublime and beautiful. It isn't show-offish, just nice.

I don't think a Pagani Zonda will be like that 10 years later, nor will a Koenigsegg CC I suppose.

JC comes across as an idiot some times. Tiff Needell comes across as the gentleman car-enthusiast in comparison.

However, you can tell JC does enjoy driving the F1, even though he doesn't admit it. You watch his reactions when he puts the foot down in the thing.

He is scared of the F1. But then again most people would be. It takes time to adjust to driving something with that level of speed quickly. It can arrive at corners so much faster than anything else for starters.

And unlike newer sportscars, the driver is still in complete control. It has no traction control, no stability control, no power steering, none of that stuff. So if the driver puts the foot down hard on the accelerator, the engine responds without interruption. But that also means that if the driver gets it wrong, he is likely to be in a very big accident.

So true Chris. It doesnt look dated as some cars from the era. It has a purposeful, conservative, timeless look about it. Only the relatively small wheels and tires bely its age.

I was just looking for this video, since I lost it. Doesn't seem to be available any more. Also looking for the Aston DB9 -v- Eurostar/TGV video again too.

And just reading through the post again, I was thinking maybe, just maybe somwhere up there in heaven, Sam got his F1.

It's not really of major importance. You don't need to go to any trouble to upload it, but thankyou for the offer anyway. :)

It was just something I thought I'd ask, to see if it was for available download anywhere already. :)
