Error message "gt 1 not found" or similar

Hi ya all out there:help:
i was doing some online racing ten min ago when a guy named Phiebs asked for help. He couldnt see other car but his own in game when racing online. When he was host and started the game he got this errormessage "gt 1 not found" or similar message. I know i have seen it before somewhere but i cant remember where and the solution has flipped out of my mind to :confused:
If anyone of u guys and gals know what to do im sure we then have another member of our great community :beer:

HHmmm.. that's a new one on me Goran.I've never seen,or heard of that.If that happened to me,tho,I'd close the pit an retry it.The servers,seem to be getting crankier with age;here's a bizarre event that happened in a pit I was hosting yesterday.We started the race on MC2 fw with several racers,but not a full pit.The race started up normally,but shortly after the race started,I had quickly passed everyone in front of me,I noticed the other people had disappeared,and had been replaced by AI drivers!!:eek: :confused: :confused: WTH? I bailed,and went back,and the other people were still there,so we restarted,and everything was normal after that.:look: Here's a thought,maybe he was running a hacked GT1,or something?

Just a couple of threads down from this one is the thread titled: "Online racing TROUBLES! (Terminate execution)"

The Board's very own CPD/Chris had this problemEvery time I try to enter an online race, the damn thing when the race is loading keeps going back to the desktop saying Terminate execution, file size GT1Race.simThis was his solutionI installed PU again, did the updates (which finally worked since I installed the Updater software..), then installed some downloadable cars.. Stupid me..Could that be the problem? If this player has other cars or has reskinned the cars they have (I know very little about it, just that I've seen jpegs of fancily painted cars on the net before) I know that player cars won't display properly then because those files have been altered, or something like that. &(

And, Goran, you know.... I'm really, really glad you are having fun, but "Goran" and "idiot" don't belong together, syntactically, in any way, okay? :rolleyes:

Hi folks
He had a stock gt1 and i figured he was new at onlineracing and pu. I beleive he said he didnt have any d/l cars at all.

Anyway, (AR)JJ had the same prob earlier(it was there i heard it before i guess) and the prob was that he had reinstalled the game and evolution mode was at the early years, so the gt1 wasnt released yet. So then just do the evo or d/l the evoeditor to do it the quick way. Thats what he did and then the problem was over.
I have told this guy (Phiebs) both JJ's solution and i have sent him my gt1 files in case those were corrupt. Maybe i hear from him tomorrow if it doesnt work. He has the link to this page tho so keep on with ur suggestions if u have any.

Problem solved. I just got a mail from him saying
quote "The Car model files had become corrupt! All I did was to copy them from the CD onto the same location in my game directory and hey-presto! "
