That's a selection of stuff from the Goodwood festival of speed from last year. Did Doohan actually ride that beast of a 10 cylinder motorcycle-like thing?

Amazing as the Tomahawk is, I'd love that Honda NR750 he had. :) Real motorbike exotica that bike is! Powered by a 32 valve V4 engine (not a typo, indeed 8 valves per cylinder) with oval pistons, the NR750 is a engineering marvel. It could do 15,000rpm, and some versions had 145hp.

200 NR 750 related patents were filed by Honda, and 4 speed records were smashed by that extroadinary bike.

pretty ballsy if he did. whats the power to weight ratio? does it beat the donut king jet engine powered van?

i'll say. i wonder how he even got a hold to one. i was watching this once and some one had a classic 1970's Toyota Celica rally racer, and they were drifting around the course. i thiught it was pretty cool.

chris, wouldn't 8 valves per cyl be less efficient than a standard 4 per cyl? more metal to be moved by the engine.....

The NR500 did 20,000rpm, so it must be pretty damn good, since friction is usually the enemy of high RPM operation.

I believe the Tomahawk is supposed to be good for a top speed of 640km/hr -if any rider is silly enough to attempt it..

Yeah, well the only major weight IS the engine, but that's alloy now too.

BUt 8 Valves a cylinder have been done by bikes before, it is more effiecent then 4 because you can get more air out of multiple holes then you can out of one or two, much like why DOHC is better then a OHC hemi head.

Or why a 16 sylinder 1.5 f1 car can make more power when supercharged then any other motor.

I was rather wondering how the Dodge turns.. A normal bike no problem, but this thing..

it leans I beleive, or has some sort of 2 wheel steering just like it has 2wd.

???i dunno, dont ask me, you'd think it would flip, cause the tires dont seem like they have any contour to the bottom of the tires.

The Tomahawk is nice but I would take a Y2K over that anyday. You can actually lean the Y2K, and it's a freaking F-14 Tomcat on two wheels.

I'll have a nice Ducati for a road bike, or a YZ450F for Motard racing, I like yamaha's but Ducati's more.

The YZF-R1 and R6 are both very nice.

I also like the Honda Fireblade.
