Hey Turboginge welcome to the forums. Good to see some new faces around the place :D
Welcome to the V8 Supercar forum of Racerplanet, as you can tell I'm a moderator here, as is Perko_rules, but I'm the more active of the two, Y2k is the local smart arse/person that does things, Mickcals copies what Y2k does, and then there's Murph_fan who used to do skins and theres some other people too.
Welcome and hope you enjoy it here.
I'm one of those "other" people
Along with that I am also very annoying :D
If you want skins for V8 Challenge then head to V8Shakes
I did 32 of the current V8 Supercars and posted them on that site, feel free to support a poor artist! ^_^
Cheers

Bloody Hell I cannot seem to get this game working properly.
I have had it working on this comp b4 and this has me stumped
It ses the game installs ok but after the load up screen movies bits and getting to the main menus all i get is a blue screen with white blocks all over it.
If i happen to click on the right white block and get to the track everything is white.... or various shades thereof, i realise that this is a graphics driver prob with my comp and not the disc but how the hell do i fix it.
It would make it so much easier to drive the car if I can seee where I am supposed to going. I know my way around a few of the tracks.... but not that well =[ :(
Thanks Guys

smart arse, I like it
Welcome Craig, lets see if we cant get your game working!
First things first, whats your PC Specs? CPU and graphics car mainly

Righto here goes
Intel pentium 4 1.9Ghz
256Mg PC2100 DDR Mem
40 G H/d with about 50%free 5400 RPM
Intel Extreme Graphics Card with latest driver ( this I think could be the prob )
56k Modem
Running Windows XP Home
As I have sed I have had this game running on this comp b4 so this does not make sense. Unless the updated graphics driver is not compatitible.
The into movies all run fine with no probs at all it just the game and the menus that are a prob.
again I appreciate your time.
Well, I haven't seen mickals do anything y2k hasn't.. :p

yeah the game is completely different to the intro movies though
My suggestion would be to do a system restore back to before you installed the new driver and try again. If that fails I'd suggest un installing V8C and doing a fresh install
It sounds to me like your new driver may be the cause, I cant explain it but I can give you suggestions as to what I'd do if I were you :D
I've spoken to him and he said he had reinstalled the old driver etc, but a system restore might work.

the version you guys use is the Ea sports version right, and not the Dick johnson version.... please tell me that it is otherwise I cant play :(
Yes it's V8 CHallenge, not DJV8's cos that's too old.

which version do you have? the EA Sports V8 Challenge with the 2001 / 2002 cars in it (and incorrectly numbered cars such as the #5 Castrol car) or the Dick Johnson V8 Challnge with the 1999 cars in it such as the Wynns Richards and Murphy cars etc?

I have the EA Sports version of V8 Challenge 2000/01
But the bloody thing worked. Am thinking that because I have directx 9 installed that maybe that could be causing a prob, it is definately a graphics driver prob, have done sys restore but x9 has been on here for so long that I havent got a restore point that predates it.
Does anyone know how to remove directx as there is no uninstaller.

It was DX9 causing the probs.

Where do i get a list of servers or at least the ones that count to connect to ????

sorry im not much of a help, im at work of a day and usually too stuffed of a night to be on the net!
heres a zip of the servers that were used at the peak of V8C gaming (Ie EVERY public server to ever be used) although most are no longer connected, but at least if someone says meet me at indernode youve got it there (unless they added a server after the list ...)
anyway theres a few here you may find useful
just extract to the address book (I think ea sports > v8 challenge > address book)
I'd LOVE to race you! I dont like V8Cs AI their too dumb but I like V8C itself because its easy to use with keyboard!
maybe next week?
anyway enjoy the files
Yeah, I lost that file a while ago, should upload it to the V8 SHakes site to help online gaming, but it is mostly dead except for the V8COC
