yep, bye bye Daewoo Matisse, welcome Chevrolet Matisse! :p

can you think about speaking Corvette and Matisse in same sentence? well, both transport 2 persons from point A to point B with enough top speed to get speeding ticket on regular road in europe... but still... ^_^

a real car enthuastics notice! it's the last chance to buy Daewoo branded european model. so, be quick to pick up your own, because at least here in finland Daewoos will become quite rare collectibles with some time. (importing started just a year ago...)

A Chevrolet Matiz??? heheh, that's a new one.. I can imagine it. ;)

In case you are wondering, I don't like the Matiz very much. It is one of the nastiest small cars around. It is so slow, even slower than you'd expect for the class. 31kW, 69Nm... The little Daihatsu Cuore (another cheap 3 cylinder wonder) thumps it solidly in the engine department, and provides at least semi-decent performance levels fast enough to allow you to keep up with the traffic.

I know it's not that good, but it's moderate for what it does.

Yeah, they already sell the larger Daewoo from the matiz in America under the Chevy badge, and speaking of which, Australia might be getting both Caddilac's and the Corvette under a Caddilac badge, don't make sense to me, but thats what the new CEO want's more American crap. We make fine cars here as it is.

I predicted doom and gloom once Herr Hanenberger departed..

The Corvette isn't much of a problem, it isn't a bad machine, but we don't need Cadillacs on sale here. Our own upmarket Holden cars do the job quite fine, and I doubt any Cadillacs will be a proper match for the Caprice Royale (like sold in the middle-east markets).

Selling Cadillac here just doesn't make sense. Holden has premium models already well established, and it also has HSV for the very upmarket/sporty type of cars.

And the CTS? That'd be soundly thumped by the TT36 Torana concept when it goes into production. And more people would by the Torana because it is home grown, has a legendary name, and it is certainly more desirable as well (unlike the house-brick on 4 wheels Caddy). Not to mention the appeal of a 381hp/480Nm twin-turbo V6. ;)

The CTS wouldn't be brought here, because it has the same engines as the Commodore, the 3.6 and the ls1 too.

THere are a lot of people that don't like the fact this new Torana is called it, because it's like the american's with the GTO it isn't they right style for them.

And yes, the WL Caprice is a great car, why do you have to use the overseas name? it's the same name here and spec level.
