Yep, that's right Howards won in a liberal landslide apparantly, I think the whole scare tactic with the interests rates is one major factor, but people might not want to have less moeny going into their precious over funded schools as it is, as they drive their in their 4x4's which will never go off road.

Sorry guys, my condolences. From what I heard you say then it's probably too much to hope he'll change this time over. Also too bad that besides this you'll still be a terror-target since the troops won't be pulled out now the other side didn't win.

I do still hope you the best for your great country that I hope to be able to experience in person some time.

Greetings
Frank

I AM ASHAMED TO BE AUSTRALIAN AT THIS MOMENT!!!!!

I am totally disgusted with the outcome of this election. Australia, you have been fooled, you believed a complete and outright lie from the governing coalition, and you deserve every bad thing that comes from this. You have have voted for:

- The complete sale of Telstra, now near impossible to stop
- Poorer education for your children
- Burdening your children with huge education debts if they wish to attend university.
- Poor environmental policy
- The ruin of Medicare

Worst of all, the Australian public believed a lie, told by one of the biggest liers we've ever seen.

Interest rates, will not, and can not be influenced by a change of government. They are solely controlled by the Reserve Bank of Australia, not by government! Absolutely no economists in Australia supported the governments election scare campaign on interest rates.

You think I'm pissed off? Damn right I am. I am furious. I'm furious that so many people have voted for the rape of Australia!

I'm not a Labor voter, in fact, I'm a Green supporter these days, but even with my vote going to Labor this time, to ensure we get rid of the Howard cancer poisoning the future of Australia's youth, it was still not enough. I'm old, I've done my education long ago, but I voted for Labor in an attempt to make sure that the youth of Australia, regardless of wealth have access to good quality education, and are able to get into university without the worry of accumulating a huge debt.

I know, my school was due to get $48,000 more a year or something like that so I'm quite furious too, whats more, is that the co-alition now has half the seats in the senate, with only one additional vote for them to pass legislation, so the next three years are going to be very bad.

My mum thinks that because Labour aligned themselves with the Greens people were put off voting for them too because the greens are a bit too left wing.

I'm not going to uni, I got bored to easily with work, I can do it, but it's annoying, I'm doing an apprenticeship and that's going to be changed again too.

Whats worse, Howard won't be around for the whole term and we will eventully have Costello as the PM.

The Green party isn't anything to worry about. Bob Brown is probably one of the few really decent politicians around who isn't just in it to get a heap of dollars.

You might know, because you might not have been born at the time, but Bob Brown was actually arrested and locked up for protesting to save the Franklin River in Tasmania at the time when a huge dam was to be built. Thanks to his, and others protests, that entire area still exists for people to visit and admire. Bob Hawke then came to government on a promise to protect that area. If Brown and the other protestors had not been so stubborn in their protests, that area might be ruined today.

I think very highly of the Greens and their policies. Not just saving the environment, but fighting for workers rights, and making higher education accessible to everyone through the abolition of HECS fees.

We need to have all higher education through university and specialist colleges totally and completely subsidised for Australians (but not for people from overseas). Then we might not have to look overseas to find qualified, skilled workers, because we will have them already here.

I apologise for the pro-Green article, but I do truly believe in that party - and I trust Bob Brown much more than the others career politicians in Canberra who flip from one idea to the next with the changing of the seasons.

Notice also in this election the massive support for The Greens. The Australian Democrats party has totally self-destructed, but the Greens have taken off big time, getting very decent percentages. Just a shame the ALP couldn't do better, the Greens did all they could to allocate preferences to the ALP.

we are agreeing on the subject Y2K, because the Co-alition is evil basically.

Indeed it is evil, and we will all hopefully see that this time, in no uncertain way.

I can't believe so many people believed the governments interest rate lie. That is astonishing.

It has taken almost an hour to get to this point. I give up trying to counter your pathetic points of what open discussion should include. Like your house, let us forget what is hidden but essential and just look at the smooth walls, like your computer let us forget what is behind the nice lines and case and pretend it is god given. Let us forget the people, ideas and intelligence that presented you with the product. You deserve to die becaue you care not for those that gave you your perfect products. YOU ARE FLAWED. YOU CANNOT GET IT.

I am being monitored. I know that, some here know that. **** you. I am prepared for you. Come and get me you ****s.

Looks like the only two that talks about Howard's win are Chris and Vq... seems others just don't care....

But I'm not going into Aussie Politics cause I don't know much about it... So I'll leave it at that...

Btw Rob, What's Up?

For so many people, it seems that no matter how much Howard lies, and misleads the Australian people, we still can not get rid of him.

Anyhow, that's all I'm going to say on that matter.

I can't possibly see how putting higher education further out of reach for poorer people can be a good thing. Same with industrial relations reforms, reducing workers rights. That only benefits management.

I'm not one to agree with hitting those seeking higher education with AUD$150,000 in fees just so they can get the education. For many, it leaves them drowning in debt. It says to people, you are not allowed to follow your dream career because you are not wealthy enough.

The quality of a persons education should never be determined by their wealth.

gees i think you guys have taken it bit over the top here, i would understand your angar if Howard had clearly rigged the election.

For me i didnt want either Howard nor Latham, so i thought that i ll vote Howard and hope that Costello takes over because i feel that he ll make a great PM and will focus on more domestic policies rather than international.

I know what you mean, all the cars I see at the nearest uni (I go through it on my gbus every day to school) are all reletivly expensive cars, so these people are literally living off their parents, especcially the ones with p plates on Nissan Skyline GTR's!!

Y2kGoofball

whats a gbus?

and how'd you get on the topic of cars?

and george I agree the only ones interested are VQ and Chris!

VQ yeah but I can get a GTR look alike which costs less then the value of our Pulsar so dont be fooled by some panel work and badging! I'm not kidding, theres car yards on my way to work in the "fully sik" suburbs of Sydney where they only sell Skylines, and literally for $15 000 you can get a GTR look alike (really a GTST)
