I'm looking for some maps, and elevation information for the Sandown Park circuit in 1983 form, or any form identical or extremely close to that.

Can anyone assist me with this?

I'm also looking for photographs of the circuit in that form as well if possible. I intend on modelling this circuit in the near future. :)

theres the codies version and V8C versions around, they give you a fairly good idea of layout and the rest of it.

did u record the V8 supercar race? thats the best info you can get for it. or ring up the circuit office.

can i ask what it is for and why you want to do sandown instead of say bathurst?

Can't remember exactly. But it was in 1983.

Monaro: I need to model this track, since in 1983, the World Sportscar Championship had a 1000km race at this circuit. It was won by Porsche, and IIRC, Porsche took home the first 9 places with 956C's entered by various teams.

I'll ask dad which year they changed it, because that would definetly help, but I have a feeling it was when they made the track longer/shorter and moved the pit to where it is now, it makes sense to me.

That's one of the many Porsche "renn sieg" posters.

it would be good to know what year they changed the layout as chris could make a current version by changing some signs and bridges for the V8 Supercar Mod.

Possible I suppose. I've not ever made a track for F1C before. But I do know how to make cars, and it is similar, and I understand lofting surfaces no problem, and material ID's.

Ok, I asked and they changed the track layout in the early 80's but there is a section that they most likely used that isn't used anymore which goes in a couple of u turns, which lengethened the track it was used for the first group A races too.

I also have a need for a 1988 version as well, so I'm thinking it might be worth just modelling a later version perhaps, but I'd prefer to do the earlier one.

I'll need some decent maps of the track regardless, and photos of most details will be useful so I can know where to put signs, trees, bridges, etc.

From memory, it is a fairly flat circuit I think, with only very minor undulations.

Found an image outlining it, but I didn't get many pics of the track last time I was there, only sponser signs have really changed and the dunlup thing used to be a walkover, but other then that nothign much else pohysically has changed since the 80's
