I thought I would post some old news that I just got into this past weeked. I bought F1 2001 the other day for $20 and it is one of the best deals I have ever gotten. I then downloaded about 60MB of stuff and have a completely new game. I got EA's patches, the GT mod, and the mod's patch and it is amazing. The graphics are very, very nice and physics are rather good also I think. There are more cars coming too !
For those of you tiring of the various flavors of NFS I highly recommend this game. There are several lively forums about it also.

I agree that the mods for F1 2001 look brilliant.
Just earlier today a preview of that new Diablo was shown, you must have seen it at simbin.com...

I'm a bit suprised not more ex-NFS editors have jumped on this game, maybe it's too different from NFS, I don't know.
I plan to get F1 2001 though - as soon as the price comes down. $$)

Yep, that's a nice one !
I thought 20 was a good price for it. I generally wait for games to get to about that level of pricing these days. I consider very few games to be worth the 50 they usually want for them.

Yeah, I have had it on my list of games to get ever since Dave (D_Man) showed me a car pic from the game. They are not exactly my style of cars but dang I stared in amazement at this one pic for half an hour or so. I couldn't believe it was not a photo of a real car.
It was an open-wheeler, something begining with "M" I think. Black duco and even the driver's helmet had reflections on it. Totally awesome!!
I will look into editing the game when I get my grubby lil' hands on it. :D

So observant! I could not take my eyes off the car, well, maybe just long enough to notice the "curbing" - Gosh, the paint is even peeling off the curbing! I can't believe it - but yet there it is! Wow!:love:
Well I don't know about Acca but I find that Diablo GTR just amazing!! BTW, I've also seen the real thing racing.. The Diablo GTR is truly an awesome car. It makes a deafening roar that you'd never ever forget, plus it just looks so aggressive. It's a real Lambo, that one.

And to be honest with ya I appreciate the work they done in the game but Diablos, Ferrari, Porsche, etc, etc, etc, don't do jack-shit for me.
Give me the money instead and I'll have a far cheaper car that'll kick it's arse and a nice big house to park it at. :D ... and probably enough change left to insure them both.

Yes that is black enough :D and the name "Minardi" did ring a bell when you mentioned it.
Dave (D_Man) posted a pic of it here a while back and also emailed it to me but I have changed Hard Drives many times since.
Anyway if you have F1 2001 and find the "Minardi" download it truely is picture perfect.... well, for that style racecar anyway.
