Been a while since there was some really noteworthy news on Underground 2... (perhaps EA didn't want to distract from the release of their other major racegame this fall, Burnout3, who knows?)
But yesterday and today there gave been 2 articles on IGN that go more in-depth on NFS undergrounds tuning options, both visually and performance-wise. Both articles are illustrated with new screenies of course ( see here. (http://media.xbox.ign.com/media/679/679033/imgs_1.html) ), but more interesting, In my opinion, are the two movie clips on IGN; Clip 1 shows off the visual styling department (first time we get to see new features such as hydraulics :errr: and 'spinners' &( ), the second clip shows how the performance tuning goes much deeper than it did in part one:

Visual styling: http://media.xbox.ign.com/media/679/679033/vids_1.html?fromint=1 (4.2 mb)
Performance tuning: http://xbox.ign.com/articles/552/552151p1.html?fromint=1 (7.9 mb)

Also, the articles on IGN: Part 1 (http://xbox.ign.com/articles/551/551104p1.html?fromint=1) and Part 2. (http://xbox.ign.com/articles/552/552151p1.html)

yeah, most of the news in the last weeks has been minor, such as the fact that UK model Kelly Brook is going to star in the game next to Brooke Burke (confusing, those names :? ), and there has been a Q & A (http://forum.nfsunlimited.net/viewtopic.php?t=3143) that has been posted both on NFS Unlimited and ND4SPDWorld, but to be really honest, there hasn't been any really shocking news there. Although I was surprised to see that the car classes were dropped, I was certain that in one of the early previews, someone spoke of diferent classes. Oh well.

And there have of course been several new screenies, thankfully no longer in the murky greenish areas only. Some of them show a new closed circuit, others a Las Vegas-style neighbourhood:

My guess would be that he was talking about style classes instead of preformance classes
Now we got Tuner, American (mustang) and SUV shit.

im still kind of pissed EA didn't listen to me on the bodykits
I bitched and bitched about the fake kits
Even personaly when I was at the EA Redwood City office last August 27th

What you say about the classes could be right, I hadn't thought of it that way yet...

Maybe they don't get licenses for official bodykist because in this game, every kit has to fit on every car, and that might be difficult to do with existsing aftermarket parts, that are usually aimed ar one model/brand? Just a guess. I agree that so many of the pictured self-designed kist are so ugly though, I mean, its as if the guys taking the screenshots and recording the movies have no taste at all. :ack:

Take the new screenies that were released today, alnog with yet another article on IGN (EA's newest bestest friend, it seems), called NFSU2: Passport to the Underground, Pt. 1 (http://pc.ign.com/articles/552/552500p1.html?fromint=1)

Dear god, my eyes are stinging.. :teary:

They should look at those Tuning Challenges that NFSUnlimited puts up on a regular basis, shows you how much better the cars can look in-game with a more tasteful approach.

Anyway, along with the new story, IGN also put up two longer videclips, around 17-18 mb each, that shows a car running a Sprint Race, speeding from one area to another. Notice how not only the time of day (night, dawn, etc.) but also the weather appears to change during the race. (I don't know if this is 'dynamic', or that it's always the same for each area).
The one called Coal Harbour features a Skyline, the other one (The Whole City In One Shot) covers even more areas, and stars the Pontiac GTO/Holden Monaro, the car that wins the prize for the coolest rumbling engine note in the game so far. =)^

get them here: http://media.pc.ign.com/media/679/679035/vids_1.html?fromint=1

What is more interesting is the screenshot you posted.
That is most definatly the most interesting thing of that whole passport stuff.

The interesting part being the window Decal. Do-Luck.
Do-Luck is a Bodykit manufacturer. Could this possibly mean we will get real life kits?
I know Do-Luck also makes wheels so im not getting my hopes up to high.
And Not to forget, the NFSu2 promo car is a do-luck kitted 350z

I will admit I had NO idea what Do-Luck was, actually.
For now, I think it is just another manufacturer like in part 1 (O.Z., Bilstein, Greddy, etc.) mostly a name that you can plaster on your car...

Well just another..
All the manufacturer vinyls in U1 where from manufacturers that had something of them in the game
OZ since it had OZ rims in the game
GReddy since it had GReddy tuning stuff in the game

So has to be the same with Do-Luck
But what Do-Luck parts will it be?
Bodykits, Rims or some tuner stuff?
Do-luck is as I said, most known for their kits.
So ill leave the option of real bodykits open till announced otherwise

lol its weekend and just 1.25am.
I wont be sleeping before 4am :P
weekdays not before 1.30am Oo

anyhow, i bitched and bitched at EA about those extremely ugly kits.
I made a list of manufacurers of bodykits and mailed it to my contact who passed it on to the producer.. Wonder what they did with it.
Hope it helped. Since I've been hammering my contact with it :P the poor guy.

But well no one I know likes the kits. On all fansites people bitch about them too. Thats what I told EA too. So they should do something with it if they know whats good for em.

i think it would be great if they would leave the tuning options like they had them in NFS:PU. as long as they have beteer bodykits than in the first underground i'll be ok. but from that pic, it seems the same crap is going to be in this one. i think EA should take a look at Street racing Syndicate and then learn how to make a decent street racing game
