Recently my sister and her boyfriend bought a house together. It's about a 100 year old house with some minor water damage upstairs and old lath and plaster walls and ceillings. And some drywall here and there... But overall in good shape, there putting in new walls in most rooms, windows, all wiring, floors, the usual things done to remodel an old home. We've demolished almost every wall we needed to. And tore down some, blew holes right through to others and not always on purpose either. Hardwood floors everywhere to that just need to be refinished and a few strips replaced. The wiring MUST be replaced because it's old tube and knob. And it's got push button light switches! lol. And with an old house your expected to find treasures here and there right? Well you wouldn't guess what we found in the attic when we decided to tear the ceilling down so we could peak it. Almost every issue of every dirty mag from 1972 to about 1976ish! ^_^ I dunno if it's true, but i heard these things can be worth alot if they're in decent condition which most are... They've been up there for awhile, and i don't think the granny that lived there before my sis was reading them. She could barely climb stairs never mind go into the attic. lol. So we found upwards of 60 mags in there probably about 40 of them in almost perfect condition. Oh my, the treasures you find in an old house. lol. Anyone else have similar discoveries doing renovations in their homes or a friends/families home?

If they are in good condition, then they probably are worth a bit.

There are some "desperate" collectors who must absolutely have every one of these in their collections.. Make hay while the sun shines so they say. ;)

Can't really see any reason any normal person might want to keep those magazines, especially ones so old, what with dodgy 70's fashions, big hair, etc. Sort of ruins the appeal, even if the rest of the package isn't too bad. ;)

yeah, good on ya for finding them, and yes they can be worth a fair bit, would hep for the cost of renovating.

I didn't find them, but i was in the same hallway when they found them, i was knocking a hole through the wall to the other side for a door way when they decided to look in the roof to see if they could peak the hall easily because it was a low hallway, at first we thought it was just a small collection and then they just kept coming when we moved the insulation! We were finding them for like 45 minutes in a section of roof no bigger than 3 x 8 feet! They grabbed one or two out figuring some kid stashed a couple up there, but it seemed like they'd never stop finding the damn things!
