I've just had a parcel arrive a couple of days ago, from my great team member, [SK]berg, which he sent his 2nd copy of Mercedes Benz World Racing to me.

The date he sent it was 27th May 2004. And arrived Friday 17th September 04.. A total of 16 weeks. ^_^

Berg's email from when he posted shows:

"MBWR is send at 1.30 PM and it should take 6-8 day"

Postage was 62 Norwegian Krona.
Approx US$9, if converted to NZ$ and then to US.. :p

Any other bad experiences from postage?

my only bad experience is from dodgey sellers who dont do as you ask

I buy scale model cars all the time. Originally I brought from the manufacturer whose in Perth (Im in Sydney) or from my favourite stockist in Melbourne (he has good prices and ive been buying from there for years) or from Ebay,

the reason was because we had no local hobby shops to buy from, so I built up a relationship with both the manufacturer and stockist in Melbourne.

Now the manufacturer sends me the cars in a box, which is taped up using tape that has 3 different "graphics" 1) identifies it as a fragile object - model car, 2) identifies the company and 3) requests not to accept the item if the tape is broken

Quite clearly there is a model car inside. Now they post different sized models in different sized boxes, so the bigger the box, the bigger the car!

As for Ebay and the stockist they use standard sizes aus post boxes.

Ive had 1 car never show up, I do believe the guy sent it, but I'm not too sure ... point is I never got it

But I have had many, especially the manufacturer boxes, "misplaced"!

I know it takes 3 days or less to be sent here, so on the 3rd day if it hasnt arrived at my PO box I storm into the PO and ask them, where its becoming a common thing "give it time", then they decide to look and "oh. it was under a table / behind an objext / on a shelf / on the floor" ... anywhere but where it shouldve been!

Now Ive asked the manuf. to send me the cars registered post so I have to sign to say i ve recieved it, which they do, as does the stockist.

Ebayers, well, when I ask for registered they charge me rediclous prices. I send stuff to people too, its never cost me more then $10, yet Ebay sellers charge $10, $15, even $25 !!!".

That is on top of paying a ridiculous postage price anyway

I usually pay without a fight, just happy to know it cant go missing.

But a week later when I ask the PO where is it, oh here it is, same as above, but wait ... no registered post!

What makes it worse is when youve payed them $10 for registered, $10 for postage costs and the box is a second hand box thats been used 4 times before and the postage on the label (they print the cost on the label) is like $3.50 :nono:

Anyway just stupidity and cheap skates trying to make $20 =((
