My dad (Accadacca) is not very helthy.
On his b/day (monday) dad told me he had chest pains for about an hour
and to go next door to tell them to ring an ambulance.
The good thing is that the ambulance came pritty quick.
the pian still went on for about 5 hours at the hospital and
the doctors sied that the cores of the pains was a major hart attack.
Dad stayed at the hospital for three days insteed of five but he wanted to leave.
he is home now just a littel short of breth but he's ok other wise.
he seys thanks for the b/day wishes.

Rob , Your supposed to start taking it easier in your twilight , not working yourself up to a heart attack :(
I really hope you recover from this and start taking better care of yourself , both for your son and for yourself . The rest of us have more selfish reasons for wanting you around mate ( this advice NOT to be taken with a grain of salt , no more salt for you matey ;) ) Be well bud -^

Ok Jono ...
firstly let me tell you how proud I am to hear you called the ambulance! I know it would have been scary because I've had to do the same before when my grandmother was really sick, and it was scary!
secondly dont be scared to do it again if your dad is very sick, especially if he cant tell you what to do. If he's very very sick you want the ambulance to look at him and maybe take him back to hospital, even if he doesnt really want to go, because it might be another heart attack  Remember, they wont get upset if you call them and your dads not as sick as you thought, they only get upset when people call them for no reason because it wastes their time
finally tell your dad I'm upset we cant meet at Bathurst, especially because I stuffed up last year by forgetting my phone, but please tell him I'm glad he chose the right thing which is to stay home and get better, because we can always meet next year!
You look after yourself young fella, and keep us updated with how dads going because we all care too!

I'm very sorry to hear about the heart attack but at least you could call the ambulance and it came quickly. My best wishes for your dad's recovery and you and your families future. I've tried something similar with my dad getting rushed to the hospital with a blod-clog at the heart the day after my 16th birthday and recently my mom has had several bad epeleptic attacks at home so may I congratulate you on your handling of this situation and once again extend my best wishes for you all.

This news pains me greatly. I am uncertain how to react right now, because I am simply shocked. If there is any ounce of holy power in my veins, let it be unleashed now, because I have grown ill with watching my friends fade away. My good friend, Rob, may every iota of good fortune follow you. Life just doesn't seem to deal the honest ones a fair hand, and the good folks always seem to take it in the arse against their will.
I am going to have to sit on this for a while, I am deeply saddened. :(

Hmm
since I last posted
I was thinking about things and how Rob must be feeling and Bogs post i know it was meant in the nicest way-^ (Your supposed to start taking it easier in your twilight I know were bogs is coming from there for the last 10 months I 've been working 7 days a week and its starting to take its toll ) Robs only 6mths older than me and I was trying to think how something like this would turn my life up side down.
Like you do when something like this happens to one of your friends Rob and I are some of the young of the old buggers here
any way I came across this song by Tim Mcgraw called live like you are dyin I know its sounds bad but if you get a chance to hear and listen to it you will know what I mean
My family and I send Rob and Jono all best and were only a phone call away
heres the words to the song if you get a chance all have a listen
He said I was in my early 40's with a lot of life before me
And a moment came that stopped me on a dime
I spent most of the next days, looking at the X-rays
And talking 'bout the options, and talking 'bout sweet time
I asked him when it sank in that this might really be the real end
How's it hit cha when you get the kind of news
Man, what'd ya do ?
I went skydiving, I went rocky mountain climbing
I went 2.7 seconds on a bull named Fu Man Chu
And I loved deeper and I spoke sweeter
And I gave forgiveness I'd been denying
And he said someday I hope you get the chance
To live like you were dyin'
He said I was finally the husband that most of the time I wasn't
And I became a friend a friend would like to have
And all of a sudden goin' fishin wasn't such an imposition
And I went 3 times that year I lost my dad
Well I, I finally read the good book
And I took a good long hard look
At what I'd do if I could do it all again
And then...
I went skydiving, I went rocky mountain climbing
I went 2.7 seconds on a bull named Fu Man Chu
And I loved deeper and I spoke sweeter
And I gave forgiveness I'd been denying
And he said someday I hope you get the chance
To live like you were dyin'
Like tomorrow was a gift
And you got eternity to think about what you do with it
What should you do with it
What can I do with it
What would I do with it
I went skydiving, I went rocky mountain climbing
I went 2.7 seconds on a bull named Fu Man Chu
And I loved deeper and I spoke sweeter
And I gave forgiveness I'd been denying
And he said someday I hope you get the chance
To live like you were dyin'

Rob, please take it easy, figure out the major causes on why your heart went like that, this is nothing to make lite of, we need you your family needs you, your merely 42 I'm 41 we both at the age that things like this become more and more out to happen, but it makes it no less dangerouis so please do as the doctor ask it is very important to follow their orders.
JONO great job getting help we all owe you a big thank you, this I know was scary for you, but man you did such a fantastic job, just like your dad always thinking of others YOU ARE DA MAN, wishing you all the best!

I have to agree with [SK]FR2. If something were to happen to you, I think we'd all be devastated.
You got very lucky Rob, next time might not be so fortunate. You've got to find out what it is that has caused it, and make the changes to prevent it from happening again.
Anyhow, all the best, and get well soon. :)

I am very saddened, and somewhat shocked, to hear that about Rob. Although very grateful Jono was able to do what he needed. I never thought i'd see something get Rob down.... but still, a good ending.
Take good care of your father, Jono. And Rob, do try to take things easy. We'll all be wishing you well.

Good on you Jono for taking charge in a frightening situation. I'm happy that Rob had someone there with him who knew what to do and that you acted without hesitation!
I had my own brush with death a couple of years ago and you certainly do learn just how valuable life is at that point, in a way you can not appreciate til you've tipped a cup with Mr. Death.
Take care of yourself Rob - a few less ciggys 8)~ and a few more long walks with that absolutely AWESOME son of yours - a few less cheeseburgers :nono: , and a few more salads = a few less health problems and a few more years to enjoy this blessed life!

Jono, like the others here I'm impressed that you were able to keep calm enough to call an ambulance, and relieved as well. I'm glad that this great guy I know has a great son. :)
I wish I could write my thoughts out better. It feels like I have a lot to say but too few words in which to put them (these few sentences took me a half hour to compose), but I hope I was able to express my thoughts anyway.
I hope you get well, Rob. :Peace:

I've had my share of too much work and stress as well , it puts a toll on you thats fair hard to understand to most but there are times when it has to be done ( also understood by many ) .

Oh, man, what a shock to hear this. I mean, damn, I hardly know what to say. =[ I so hope you're gonna recover again from this, Rob, please take care of yourself, just like you always wished on me at the closing of a chat session.
And such bitter irony, to have this happen so close to your birthday.
A pity that Bathurst is out of the question now, but perhaps after this, even the big B may seem less important for a while.
Jono, you're a big man to keep your head straight and do what needed to be done in what may have been an unnerving situation, I don't know if I'd been just as good, had I been in your shoes - I'd probably still be shaking.

Well, as you can see, the ol' buggar is still kickin'. Ya don't get rid of me that easy.
Remember, only the good die young!! Guess I'll live forever. :D
A bit of a piss-off happening on my birthday and I only had one stubby (small beer). :(
They looked after me pretty well during my stay in hospital and have had me going back regularly and all over the place with tests and check-ups. Next week I go into the Royal Brisbane Hospital's Nuclear Medicine department for a "Myocardial Perfusion Scan" whatever the heck that is. :why:
I think they inject some sort of dye into my bloodstream to watch it pass thru my ticker.
I'll probably end up glowing green like Monty Burns (Simpsons). ^_^ heh
Hey we got another Galah (a.k.a. "Major Mitchell" a.k.a. pink and grey parrot)
He was flying with another when he suddenly landed in from of Jennie's kids and allowed her nephew to pick it up and walk home from the bush with it on his shoulder.
Knowing that I wanted another Galah to replace "Dodo" he gave the bird to us. We've named it "Cheech" because they are known for saying "chi-chi" which we had first named it when we thought it was a female but I thought the name too gay for a male.
I let it out of the cage a few times each day and take it outside for two hours every morning. It makes no attempt to fly away but I keep it caged incase the cats get to it. Kooky licks his lips non-stop whenever the bird is in sight. Mega-boy (our ginger cat) runs away from it. Funny to see a cat scared of a bird. ^_^
Yesterday two other Galahs landed on my verandah rails while we were out there. I thought it pretty cool that they weren't scared of me.
Locked inside the house Kooky was constantly licking his lips and staring at them through the kitchen window.
Well folks, beleive it or not but the ol' fart has run out of things to talk about. Sheesh, I really must be crook (unwell). heh
Jennie is getting the net cut off at the end of the month which is only a few days away. :( I have soo much I want to upload before I finally leave RP and the NFS scene. I have a lot I want to say to so many great people here I have met along the the way.
I'm starting to choke again so I'll close for now.
Take care, keep smilin' and stay happy.

thats the first post thats longer then 3 words that Ive ever read!
Ok well with the galah thats great news, it sounds like it wants to stay with you otherwise it would have moved on by now (when you let it out)
I suppose it trusts you and enjoys living with you which is why he never flies away
As for you thats also great news your on the mend. Tests aint fun, but at least you learn all about them, how their done, what they can show ^_^ Its quite amazing how some tests are done and what they show
The net - hmm, =(( Does this mean your never coming back? I seriouslt doubt it, I'm sure we'll see you every now and again if you can get a minute or 2 access from somewhere and I surely hope you do :)
Anyways great to hear from you again mate, maybe next Bathurst we can finally get together

No!
This is the first time I'd seen this... Probably my fault for not going past page 1 in the main forum.
What an awful thing to happen anytime, let alone your birthday. :(
I hope you are okay and taking care of yourself. Your life is incredibly precious and you have a son to love and who loves you and friends all over the globe whose lives you have touched and who think the world of you, Mr. AccadaccA.
the Myocardial Perfusion Scan (http://www.heartcareassociates.info/myocardial.asp) isn't anything to be worried about. It's a working-resting heart exam just to see how well your heart is getting blood/oxygen (perfusion). I'm going through a similar test next week as well, so I can sympathize :o
Please take care of yourself, and don't leave us forever without you. Come back when you can even if it's just to say "hey" and we can share some VB with our dear friend.

If you gotta get off the net in a couple of days, sure go ahead, upload a whole directory of random stuff, NFS files, images, anything you feel you wanna share. I'm sure many people would be grateful for that. And I'm sure won't take long to link some files in a post. :)
From the looks of it, I guess so. Why did you cut off you internet? Oh well, these questions are probably falling on deaf ears. I hope you fare well with the health issues, and I'll miss ya, my fellow appreciator of big V8 muscle.
Damn, and I just got back!!

see what happens when you stay off the net for a week... i didn't got the chance to say goodbye to our dearest Acca... well, anyway if you're reading this, thanks for all the help here exactly a year ago when i joined this wonderful community, and great to hear that you are ok now... hope to see ya again!

Cheers folks.
What can I say in reply to such warmth?
Dang you lot, you've made me blubber like a baby at Jen's place.... in front of a half dozen teenagers.
I've already gone thru half a box of tissues and Jennie's laughing at me but she refuses to read this thread because she says that she would cry too.
I don't know what's going on with Jen and the net, I think she has asked them to disconnect but they haven't yet.
Sorry to hear that Chey is going through the same ordeal. And they all say that I'm too young for this shite.... you're 14 years younger.
You just take care of yourself okay! Or I'll have to come over there and throw you into a pool of chocy ice-cream. :D
I'd love to have a few drinks with all of you. Who knows, maybe one day I'll put the lottery on and actually win enough to party on with y'all.
Until then, take care, keep smiling and stay happy.
I'll drop in when I can.
p.s. thanks again everyone, I love ya all.

Glad to hear you are doing better, and it's great to see you here. I hope you and your family will have a long and great future (I'm not good at writting original lines like this so just know that I mean it positively and friendly of all my heart).
