A new add-on car and one of the new tracks optionally being used for High Stakes online play. Some of the new tracks are big, but a 300mph top speed helps to shrink them back down a bit. In this video, top speed is about 295mph. Kind of a cool track to run for this car, as you get a good sense of speed.

I want them. Where can I find them?

Cool movie, smooth framerate. -^ You'd almost forget how old the game is - much thanks to the awsomeness of Beni C (Beniamino Calchera)'s track design (Autobahn). I remember what an impact the first images of this track made (that must have been in the summer of 2000, I think).

Beni C's Autobahn is available on several of the bigger NFS download sites, one of them being Racing Central: http://rc.racerplanet.com/trackinfo.php?id=5&design=standard

I am not sure if the one in Jeff's video is the exact same one though, as this track was included in a Track Mod Pack created by the Need For Better Speed community, in which case it may have been debugged/tweaked a little. In that case, you should be able to find the download link here: http://forum.needforbetterspeed.net/index.php?showforum=23 (although the official mod track pack link appears to be down at the time of typing :? ...keep checking back, I suppose. )

None of the links work.

I'm certain that the first one from Racing Central works, I just re-downloaded Beni C's Autobahn, just to make sure. I'm not sure what kind of problem you could have with it.

I was aware that the link at Neeforbetterspeed did not function, hence my 'keep checking back' comment...

Look for the mesage thread EP downloads. The names have been changed. (EP stands for Expansion Pack). Here's a link to the thread, click on the "Here" in KillRides response to my message.

You can also get that car in the link below, but note that the EP mod car pack has changed the name and the serial number, but it's still the same physics.

With this car, sub 50 second lap times are possible at RW2. Top speed is about 300mph, but on the original tracks, you'll only get a bit over 240mph at Celtic Ruins and Redrock Ridge tracks. On the converted NFS2SE, tracks, you'll reach top speed on the Proving Grounds and Outback tracks. On Autobahn, you get close, 295mph on one of the long straights (assuming a clean run).

At Outback, lap times are close to that of the FZR2000 in NFS2SE, about 1:10. However there's a big difference in indicated speed. The FZR2000 shows about 260mph, the NFS4 cart/McLaren MB4 shows about 300mph, but the visual speeds are about the same. Apparently, NFS2SE has longer "miles" than NFS4. Note if you still have NFS2SE and want to try the FZR2000, set rear downforce one step higher than front downforce to reduce excessive oversteer in this car.
