I'm serious...

Today PM John Howeard announced the election will be held on October 9 2004

for those of you playing at home and planning on visiting Bathurst for a certain race, thats on that weekend!

Thats Saturday 9th October, the 1000 is the following day the 10th October

I'm going on the 9th  so to you guys also travelling to the mountain on or before that day my suggestion is vote prior to it (one of those early vote things)

I also believe thats the night the NRL grand final is on, isnt it?

And if you aren't registered to vote yet, and are eligable to do so, hurry up and get it sorted out pronto.

I hope to god that John Howard doesn't get in as PM again. Never has a prime-minister of Australia been so blatantly dishonest, on the children overboard scandal in particular, and also the war on Iraq.

The election was only really called now because Mr Howard and his dodgy government faced a grilling in Parliament when it was scheduled to resume.

It would have placed the governing coalition under even more pressure, and it appears the coalition was desperate to avoid that.

And whatever you do when voting, read the ballot papers carefully, and make your vote count. Don't stuff it up. :)

Yeah, I hope John Howard gets voted out too, that is the same day as my sis' bday, but I haven't heard howard say it, i've read that it is speculation, he's waiting as long as he can so Latham can muck up more, but he seems like a logical choice. Plus howard is gonna retire and we are voting for howard not the replacment which we might not agree with.

I wish i could vote, 2 more years but, dammit I want to vote Howard out too!

"dont get involved with conversations on politics or religions" is my motto, so I wont, but I do know for a fact with it interfearing with Australias best and well known race weekend as well as football finals it wont make some voters too happy

I'm happy to speak politics, but religion is strictly off-limits for me.

At least Howard didn't pull an Olympic election..

You're all more than welcome to take Helen Clark.

The growing tax take is being slated by National which says it makes a mockery of Labour's low tax pledge card.

Almost 40 percent more tax is being collected since Labour came to office.

National's finance spokesman John Key says figures show companies are paying 72 percent more in tax and individuals 35 percent more, taking the total tax rate to $46 billion.

He says if the Government did not waste money on projects such as Budget propaganda, growing bureaucracies and social programmes of dubious quality it would be able to return a better dividend to those who generate wealth.

Good luck on voting Howard out. ;)

I'm fed up with NZ's government claiming we have no money for certain projects, or give money to the wrong people. The latest thing, was bringing a low income family, with government assistance to the levels of mid range people. Sure it's nice to give money to the needy, and make children grow up without poverty, but there are other ways around it, such as encouraging people to actually work. Not offer social welfare, and huge family assistant programmes, which are more than many would earn in a job.
All I gotta do, is have a couple of kids, sit back, and would earn more money than I'm currently on, and have time to take photos.. Sounds great.

I think politics and religion are best kept out of this forum it will only end up in a major shit fight
