View Full Version : Will NFS UG be as terrible as the original?

i played the first one a few weeks ago with my cousin and i have to say i hate that game. only thing i liked was being able to style cars and listen to TI and Lil Jon at the same time. The grafficks sucked, the physics were far from realistic, and i couldnt stand it. i stayed in drift mode or customize mode the whole time cause the 240 and the skyline was looking a bit stupid the way they had it. i built a bunch of nce cars, but ididn't race cause i couldnt tell what the car was doing. i would never know the car turned untill it started loosing grip. it was like driving a car with non-sensitive power steering that delayed understeered to oversteer &( . very confusing, i could'nt play. i just kept playing driv3r, which is a tight game, by the way, me and my little brother already beat it. it owns vice city.
Thankyou. I agree, not ma fav game at all. I only like drift mode, it's the only playable mode.
The GFX are ok, they actually look good, though. Imo.

I thought the music in the original was among the worst I'd heard. Almost as bad as listening to some soprano screech her lungs out.
Like listening to Andrea Bocelli, only to hear Sarah Brightman ruining a perfectly fine piece of music with her part in it.. ;)

I can't believe I spent money on it even though it was at budget price, at least Samantha was a cool chick. But what the heck is wrong with the physics on the PC-version? I use the keyboard and it constantly pulls to the left! Power-on, power-off, braking, doesn't matter it just pulls left constantly, except a few times while at top speed flat out. I tried both a tuned and stock car, including a Peugeot 206 (that I'm so dumb to have convinced my mom to buy for real, what a POS!) and they all pull left.

only mode I liked was drift too, cos it reminded me of the Hovercraft, and everything else was crap, the music i replaced with my own, but I hate rap music anyway, they ahve like one rock track, people bought it, but I know people at school who hate it cos of the cars.

the only good music on their was rap,even all the song on there was old; when i raced i turned he volume off cause rock gives me head aches, all they do is scream and play guitars as loud as possible.
Frank, i think the reason your cars pulled to the left might have been because the controller calibration was off. the physics were crap, but i didnt experience the car pulling to a cetain direction.
24's, cars and clothes, thats how all my partnas roll............... :D

Yes calibration could be it, if it weren't for the fact that I use a keyboard only. I've never heard of calibration for a digital controller.

I see your music also is like te 4 cylinder cars you like, crap and loud just for the sake of it, with no attitude, Rock, it has real meaning and bands send out messages, it isn't just whinging like rap is, and age of music, like cars, doesn't matter, cos if they are good it don't matter, I gues you don't like rock cos it has real bass in it, just like a v8 has bass in it.

do you realize the stupid sh*t you just said? rap is a bunch of whining while rock has real bass in it? i really didn't want to say it VQ, but you are a complete dumbass.
you probably cant hear what they are saying or you cant figure out how to make beats that are actually worth something, so you stick to playing guitars loud a possible and screaming your lungs out saying som stupid shit nobody understands and you call it a message.
4 are loud for the sake of it while a v8 has bass? i beg to differ, a loud v8 is just loud cause it can
A v8 is loud because it is large capacity and a large intake equals a large exaust.
But, Blackice, ashamadly, I was a fan of rap, I listened to it, but then I got into Metal, metal has meaning compared to rap which doesn't questiong anything it has more swaering then a metal track does, or at least the metal I listen to, tell me that Metallica is not better then your rap artists who have been around no longer then 10 years.

Music tastes are going to be a very subjective subject. heh.. :) As long as I can turn the music off when I'm racing I don't care what it has.. :-D

I enjoyed the game, i find arcade physics more fun. And the grafics aren't horrible but i think NFS 6 had better graphics. And yes, loose the rap! Can't spell crap without rap! And blackice, i see what your saying about metal, but it's not all like that, the screaming your head off till it explodes is not what i and most likely VQ listen to. Rap kind of reminds me of pirate music. "YO HOE YO HOE!" ^_^ lmfao

I never can understand what rappers are singing, so there.
I agree with josh, turn all music off is better to listen to engine whine and tyres screeching.
NFS7 graphics were good, and gave a better feeling of speed than hp2. both have crap physics and handling, but hp2 was worse in my opinion.

Does UG have damage effects on the steering? It could be that your monitor had turned a few degress making you think you were not going straight?? :p

well all rap music aint the same, try listening to kanye west or other rappers like him that are actually saying something when they make songs.

Have you tried turning in the corners? :racer:
Is it possible that it's just torque steer or just the car likes to move around under braking?
