Sorry to hear about your loss mate!
It's gonna be a tough time, but we all go through the pain of a loved one/pet.
Just think that it was the thing to do. Best her your pet. :)

As for school and work. If that's just not your thing... Take some time, and chill out. Or find something that you're good in.
I had good grades my entire school career, generally A's.. And the final year, I flunked. My own fault. Was playing too much NFS5. :nono:
And I'm not one to study. I only answer what I have remembered.. Which is usually most the stuff. But if I'm not in class, or so asleep, from racing till 4am.......
Anyway, something for you will come up. Just give it time. Took me a year after school before I picked up the job at the bank. Few more weeks, and another performance review, and should be second pay rise in 18 months.
Just try the best.. And follow what you like.
That's the only advice I can give you. (The bank, wasn't something I had ever thought about, but there was a position, and applied... Success... Just guess it was meant to be, to fill in a career hole for the time being.)
Take care bud

Lost your pet? That's awful, and I know how you get really attached to them. I have three dogs and they're all great, the oldest one is going to be 10 years-old in December. I've grown very close to all of my dogs, they're like family.
School isn't much fun, is it. So many other things to do, but you're obligated to study unless you want to fail. I remember when I needed to study, but I downloaded music instead. Best thing to do is just get away from your distractions, turn off the computer and everything, act like they're missing and and just study.
Good luck finding a job, or getting into the mood of finding one. If you don't get of your ass now, you'll wish you did when you're older. Sorry if I seem harsh.

I get distracted too much, but I'm in year ten, so it's not that bad, but I'm falling out of habit's I've gotten in the past. My family lost my 19 year old cat the other month now, I miss her as does everyone in the family.

Vette Boss has the right idea, however tough it sounds. That's the thing to do. Once things are sorted out, then come back to computers and stuff.
You can succeed in whatever you wish to do, but you've got to work damn hard. Set a target, and work for it. Don't give up.

Hi, DJC... I think you've seriously exceeded haivng a "bad day". I'm really sorry. It's got to hurt =[
You've been through a lot, but you've got a quiet, gentle strength that will see you through things like this... loss and setbacks. The loss is difficult, and something you just need to endure as time and distance make it hurt less. The setbacks, though, are just just, setbacks and are temporary.
You're smart, capable and courageous; there's no doubt you'll find your way. I just wish it didn't have to hurt so much for you at times.

DJC,
About your pet, that seriously blows. Unfortunately, I have no useful words for you on that one.
Regarding your A-levels, well, that blows too, but things could be a lot worse on that front. You could have passed them all, gone on to uni for 4 years, ran up 9000 pounds of student debts ( if you are prudent, that is. More if you are a bit spendthrift ), passed uni and found yourself in a job which you were qualified for 6 years ago - which is what happens to most people in this country nowadays. So you are starting out with nothing. Well, it beats -9000 -^ . Blessing in disguise, I think.

did you get my PM??
And yes, thats the spirit! you dont have to go to uni or similar these days.
Here in Sydney you can pass Uni altogether and get a traineeship, which is 12 months in house training.
Usually the host employer will offer you a job, as theyve gotten to know you over 12 months and youve gotten to know how to do the work! The advantage is after 12 months you get a qualification which you can take further via Tafe and earn a University equivillent (hows it spelt?) degree, for far less then the Uni fees, plus you can continue to work whilst attending Tafe of a night or on your days off.
Apprenticeship is similar, we have em too, a longer version of the traineeship (and you jump straight to the qualification unlike the traineeship where you earn a Cert 2 or 3 then have to study for a Cert 4 then diploma ...)
There are ways around it, sounds like youve finally worked out how your gonna attack it.
Believe me man, ive been looking for work practically since november last year when I left my final year of school (year 12) Ive been screwed in 3 jobs, the first one I was at for 1 and a half months, the second 2 months the third 2 days! So when I wasnt working Ive been looking for work, and I'm still looking but almost there (then I have to battle with this years year 12 school leavers if I dont get a job in the next few months ...)
Anyway man dont let them screw ya like me either! I mean im supposed to be doing a 5 day "introduction" course this week (ie now), which runs for 5 hours a day but i threw it in for a few reasons, some being the fact that I cant organise job interviews this week yet I might also not even have a job with them at the end of the week (as their choosing 6 ppl out of the 9), the fact they should be paying us to attend it as its acctually a training program but they renamed it to an intro program to get out of having to pay us, and I was the odd one out (ie under 23, no job whereas the others were all 23+ and managers / assistant managers / supervisors etc and everyone was employed!!)
why waste my time which can be better spent going for 3 or 4 interviews elsewhere?
