Wasn't too sure where to put this, so Mod, pls move if needed, thx. :D

Found something interesting in Toca2. You can change the team names that are displayed on the vehicle selection screen.
All you need to do is go to the chamship folder located in the gamedata folder, and find the Teams.ini file. You can change the team name to whatever you want. The lines look something like this:
[Team 1]
TeamID = GT400
Name = (Change this line.)
This "should" correspond to *car*_0.big if you have a skin applied.
For example, this is what I have put in place of the original team name for the '68 Mustang:

; ************************************* FORD MUSTANG 1 TEAMS

[Team 21]
TeamID = MUST0
Name = Team [SS] Racing

[Team 22]
TeamID = MUST1
Name = Kenndrick Motor Sports
ShortName = Kenndrick M.S.

[Team 23]
TeamID = MUST2
Name = Danvers Racing

[Team 24]
TeamID = MUST3
Name = Hawk Motorsport

[Team 25]
TeamID = MUST4
Name = Danny Mason Racing

Must0 is the first mustang pictured on the selection screen.

Just thought I'd let you all know, if you have'nt found this yet. :)

That is neat! I tried TOCA RD2 (or should I say TACO RD2 ;) ) at Probex's place, and I quite liked it. I plan on getting it once I have some extra $ floating about. Thanks for the info about team name changing!

I dont particularly like RD2 but then again if you dont fault find you'll enjoy it.

Put it this way, its got alot of catching up to do before it could be compared to PU

The cars feel arcady, I play for the V8 Supercars and their not quite right - not the right engine sound, slip and slide too easily, the tracks are way off time wise (for instance at Oran park on the weekend the real blokes were doing lap times of like 1:10.00 and 1:12.00 whereas in RDF2 I do an average lap time of 56 seconds!

But if you like racing "sims" and like I said dont sit there and try to fault find you can enjoy the game

how do you turn "pro sim" mode on?

Dont you need to enter the "cheat code" like in RD 1?

To run pro sim online you just choose a pit that is running it, to do it at home game its in the options set up for controlers and pro sim is very real in TOCA.
I still cant belive there is people hacking on this game it really is far better then the last 2 trys at NFS series. there is so much to love about it how can people not like it, I suppose those who run the huge mods of other games and take weeks setting them up could say what they are playing is slightly better but for a plug and play game there is not much that is even close to TRD2 my game of choice for the next while. I have found nothing better. Just my opinion.

ah but

1) mines on xbox

2) I dont play online :rolleyes:

Kinda stupid if its only restricted to online play :mad: At least in RD1 you had a cheat which could be activated

On the topic of cheats Ive also got hold of the cheat gen so if your after cheats let me know in the Racerplanet V8 Supercars Race Driver forum (its http://www.racerplanet.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=23)

I didn't find it arcadish at all. I really liked the way the 68' Stang handled, it had quite a "marshmallow" suspension through the curves, which makes it fun as hell. I found the physics to be similar to PU, only more varied in that you can race all sorts of different classes of vehicles, from F1 to offroad. The other thing I like is the was the tires like to let go on the lawn when under heavy throttle. It can be quite a bitch to get a high HP car off of the grass!

yeah but I play it mostly for the V8 Supercars, as thats our national touring car sport, and there is alot of fine tuning the V8's need before their realistic, AI as well

I mean on a 20 lap race you can be 4th or 5th, with compulsary pit stops on if you pit a lap or 2 after the guys in front you magically come out 1st, if not you come out literally on the bumper of the guy in 1st
