oh ok.
sbr must have changed their minds because I can remeber last year when they were saying, you need to have 2 drivers that have cometed in the series all year for bathurst. (which is why they put ingall/ambrose together) and putting a driver that hasnt raced during the year is a mistake. Could it be because Jim and Richo are going together and SBR know Ritter's better?

why arent SBR combining their 2 strongest drivers? thats just silly

the reason that SBR have split their drivers is simply sponsor related. Both Caltex and Pirtek wanted full car sponsorship as has been all year as apposed to the joint livery of last year.

im sure the sponsors get more people looking at their cars if they bloody win. ah well atleast it makes skinning easier, i remember the SBR cars last year were the hardest cars i had to skin

The reason why SBR would do that is because after Sandown when Ingall went spinning off track, both off SBR's top drivers were beached and ended up being a lap down.

I think they realise that by putting them in two different cars with two capable co-drivers both Ingall and Ambrose stand a chance at winning both Sandown and Bathurst.

I hope both Ingal and Ambrose have problems with their cars and have to drop out of sandown and Bathurst, cos Bathurst is holden territory! :p

i hardly doubt that, as since when do the SBR Falcons have trouble

This is what HRT did many years ago and look at the great resulkts - Mark Skaife 2nd, Craig Lowndes 3rd in 1999. Having 2 good drivers in seperate cars means both cars will go well, but if 2 good drivers are in the same car and it breaks down, then its goodbye to them in the championship

But then again if you have a driver not racing during the year he could go slower and be up to speed. Say if Greg Ritters driving the same time as Greg Murphy or Richo then he may get passed quite easily. Remember 2002 when Longhurst went with Skaife, Longhurst would get passed when Murphs behind, but when Skaife jumps in he is faster. Will be an interesting race.

thats what happened in '97 - Skaife and Brock were pole and leading the race till the 05 VS broke down and farewell to brocks "farewell"

it was because Skaife stopped driving and the problem came on, but brock said to keep gpoing and it would stay fine.

Ritter has proved himself worthy to drive in the same seat the 2003 champ, in fact i think Ritter has a better record at Bathurst than Ambrose does!!

If you recall 2002 when Holden won Bathurst filling in the top 5 places ( ), the No 18 DJR Falcon running fourth before an off track adventure had Greg Ritter behind the wheel easily keeping Rick Kelly/Nathan Pretty at bay and putting heap of pressure on Bright/Mezera at the same time.

And think back a year before with thirty laps left and all off a sudden Greg Ritter and Cameron Mclean were leading the race for the No 18 DJR, before being slowed up my Paul Morris for a number of laps (Morris even collected 3 black flags before moving) allowing Mark Skaife (HRT), Brad Jones (BRJ), Greg Murphy (KRT) and Jim Richards (FTR) to pass them, they finished sixth overall (now this is all from memory so if i am wrong pleasse tell me, i am on top of most of it cause i watched a replay of the 2001 Bathurst today cause i was bored)

SBR have some very strong co-drivers on their side.
