V8 Supercars 2 or race driver is set to come out on ps2 which is good for me because my computer isn't good enough to run this game. It is set to have a field of 21 cars at a time which is far better than the previous 14 in V8 Supercar Race Driver 1.

I read that too

I would be too excited over it, from owning V8RD2 on Xbox from day 1 and comparing it to what they have written there its nothing like it Just some commentaty from me ...

I say if your a V8 fan like me get it, you will enjoy it, but its still not what Codies promised it to be

is as realistic as racing games get no, colin mcrae rally the first was better then this. I know F1 Challenge, and even NFS PU are better then this!

There’s also a super hardcore “Pro-Sim mode” for ultimate realism – if you can handle it! must only be in the PS2 version - I cant find it!

include the addition of five new race tracks and five new teams over the previous version, including the extremely popular Holden Racing Team and Team Kiwi. This is in addition to the inclusion of Ford Performance Racing. yeah, problem is major teams like Castrol and Kmart are still VX, whereas all 3 of the FPR cars are BA and Besnards is #7? I mean CPR and KRT changed to VY's mid year, as did FPR change Besnards to a BA and obtained #7 to replace the #19

Again, exclusively for PlayStation 2, gamers will also be able to save replays, and really drive that victory home to their mates this I dont get? Why is it only on PS2 when the xbox and PC save to a hard drive? Common sense tells me it's be more obvious for these 2 versions to save replays to hard drives, which have a higher storage space then a memory card??

With unique adaptive AI that changes to suit your level of racing expertise, the computer-controlled drivers are no pushover: they’ll fight to hold their line, try to out-brake and out-maneuver you, and even carry grudges over from race to race! you know what, they promised this, but realistically the AI dont! What I can understand either is how come both Skaife and Ambrose are almost always in the last 2 positions, yet drivers like Seton, Ingall and Lowndes take pole?

There’s classic V8 Supercars damage, too. Thanks to a hugely realistic damage engine and the most advanced physics ever seen in a racing game, get too cosy with another car or a trackside barrier and it could be back to the starting grid for you. And there are no fake ‘resets’ to miraculously restart you back on your way, “Race Over” means just that, but only for that race. The save system in V8 Supercars 2 saves after every event, so you’ll only have to re-run that one race in order to progress. hehe dont hold your breath! The damage is different to the original but still crap! The slightest touch from a car behind or a slightest tough to a car in front (if you can get that close) causes your front / rear end to bend and crush like youve hit a brick wall! As for the damage its not as good as it sounds ...

I found the game quite dissapointing which is why I didn't end up getting it.
Shame really since it's the only v8 supercar game. What they should do for the next game is scrap everything not relating to v8 supercars and try and make the most detailed v8 supercar game, only aussie tracks, most v8 teams, detailed interiors, proper pit stops with the correct team, like the F1C mod will be like. I'm not really interested in Ford Ute racing around a Nascar track. I haven't really liked the Toca series, Toca 3 World Touring Cars would have been the best though).

As for it coming out on PS2, doesn't affect me since I don't own one but it probably wouldnt be as good as XBOX or PC. I wonder if they will update teams to 2004 liveries? Doubt it!

I agree with the ford utes and all that
As for Toca 3, is that the Toca World touring Cars?

The best one ive played was TWTC, which was the first Toca game to include the VT Commodore, AU Falcon, Bathurst. Surfers and Adelaide. I reckon for its time period it is still pretty good, and compared to V8RD and RD2 it makes me wonder what the hell they did to Bathurst from TWTC ;)

Doubt it'd be 2004 liveries too

i still think v8c is still the best v8 game out there considering when it was made, and the technology boom since then!!!

we just need EA sports to make another one!

EA just need to base a V8 Supercar game off the F1 Challenge 99-02 base and we'd be laughing ie similar to the V8 Mod their developing

the V8 mod is pretty sweet, its just release dates are like when V8C was promising its release "december, no wait, may, no wait, mid 2004, hang on a sec"

Nah I could post, then I had a minor disagreement with a member involved with the mod, about modifications of all disagreements to have, privately ie not on the forum, but suddenly I was unable to post since then?

anyway I dont have time to keep checking on it so I'm not that fussed

I hardly ever visit the RSC forums anymore.
I lost the link out of favourites for the v8 mod & can't be stuffed finding it. ^_^
