View Full Version : Webber jumps ship wello 07-28-2004, 02:51 AM I think we all knew it was coming Mark Webber is going to Williams next year chris 07-28-2004, 03:31 AM Finally it is official. The speculation is over.. ;) Wazza 07-28-2004, 12:36 PM That's good to finally confirm. :D Looking forward to some tough Down Under power, showing the European guys, what it's all about! Perko_Rulz 07-29-2004, 01:49 AM YEAH! C'mon Mark, do it for us ANZACs!!!! The AGP and the AMotoGP should be ANZGP and ANZ Moto GP (ANZ = Australia/New Zealand) as unfortunantly NZ doesn't have these events. The have one of the best WRC events though. Wazza 07-29-2004, 02:26 AM The ANZ bank certainly wouldn't mind advertising their name with that one. )=) Now I'm just imagining how bad a Pukekohe F1 race would be. Bump bump crash. &( Ya never know, maybe with a future London street race, and a success of Auckland V8 street races.... Ok, dreaming just a bit too much. lewi 07-29-2004, 03:27 AM w00t. 'nuff said :) Perko_Rulz 07-30-2004, 03:36 AM easy, ANZAC GP. I remeber watching the 5oo's back in the day and I always felt sorry for Simon Crafar as he's hometrack was Phillip Islnad so he never got to show his talent in front of his real home crowd. Does anyone remember him? He won at Donnington in 1997 I think it was. monaro 07-30-2004, 07:08 AM ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. so unless the grand prix is using tanks i doubt you can call it that either.. chris 07-30-2004, 07:24 AM What you could do is just call it the Grand Prix of Australasia, or something like that, and hold it at Phillip Island or somewhere like that (a really, really fast track). That track would be an awesome venue for an F1 race, provided the pit facilities are given an upgrade, and grand-stands are also given a bit of an upgrade to F1 standards. Wazza 07-31-2004, 12:37 AM A couple of New Zealand millionaire racing enthusiasts have been planning a new track South of Auckland. Somewhere not too far from Meremere drag strip. Bernie has already said, this track automatically moves NZ up the F1 racing list, and would be a category 2 track, and very easily modded, to get to the grade 1, F1 standards. The track is apparently made of two smaller tracks, which can be changed depending on the race. Total length, 3.8km. Sounds promising... It would also be complete just after the first round of Auckland V8 Supercar racing in 2006. So 2 more years... Perko_Rulz 08-03-2004, 09:57 PM Chris has a great Idea, the Australasian GP. Monaro, the only reason I used ANZAC was because it represents unity and shows spirit which we need in our world now. The chance that NZ may have a new track is awesome Waz. |
