Ok, that's what I thought. Everything looks OK on my own PC too, but for some reason. on my parents' machine (where I am now), no images load on that page. I just upgraded them to XP (use term "upgrade" loosely) and there seems to be some trouble with displaying pictures, and also some parsed URLs. Are there some settings I should be changing here?

I am at home now, and I tried that page again, but it seems the server is down now.

Anyway, about XP home... Is there some setting I need to change in order to properly view those pictures? And about the automatically parsed URL; when I allowed this forum to automatically parse the URL, the link didn't show up on XP when i viewed my post. That is why the URL is just typed out instead of it being a link you can click on. I am rather confused about this, and any help would be appreciated.

TJ

Not sure about the forum not automatically parsing http://www.reportbullies.org/Sponsors/Sponsors.html
for ya ( I am sticking it in here (http://www.reportbullies.org/Sponsors/Sponsors.html) a few different ways to see what happens for me ) , but as far as xp showing pictures , as long as you have the latest vers of i.e. , meaning 5.x or later and the appropriate updates ( just in case ) , there shouldn't be any real difference between using it or any other flavor of windows for normal browsing .
It should be setup to view pages by default .

*edit* both ways of putting the link in worked here , tj. Sorry , shot down 2 for 2 far as an answer I could give ya :(

*edit 2* I can see where the pictures are supposed to be ( hold down cursor , highlight whole page as if to copy , shows you the places ) but I also didn't see any pictures themselves , although the cursor did change when hovering over the area's where they should be .
Off hand , I can't think of any particular reason for this behavior , possibly the format of the html or scripting they used to write the page ?
Looking through its source now.

Well , after looking through the pages source , I didn't see any obvious errors , so I checked the properties on one of the pictures , copied its address directly , and pasted that into my browser ( the address to the picture I pasted was http://www.reportbullies.org/Sponsors/Cochrane_Lions.gif ) .
The picture itself didn't show up , so I can only assume the problems must be stemming from there , and not with your parents setup of the os . My guess would be its a quirk with the site , Tj .

Very odd. I have been combing around the internet and found a few complaints about IE 6 not displaying web pictures properly. There has been little suggested to solve this, save for reformatting, which is obviously a last resort. *sigh* this sucks, heh.

It is weird how myself and a few others can see the pictures, yet still some people don't see them on their machines. It just doesn't make sense to me.

EDIT: what about this page Bogs, does a polaris dealer show up for you? http://www.reportbullies.org/mountain.htm <-notice it is "htm" rather than "html", not sure if that would make a difference (?) :why:

First one loads fine for me Teej.

The second one only has one image "Cochrane_Mountain_Toys.gif" as it should with viewing the sorce code.

Html and htm make no difference to the viewing of the page's images.

Heh , Ditto on what Acca said , I see the single gif , again , as the source says I should be .

Also as Acca said , the .htm or .html extensions should ( and at least as far as I can discern from other pages I have viewed , ) not make any difference .
For instance , in Acca's siggy is the petition to save PU , also with an .html extension , and I can view it just fine .

Besides that , I know for a fact that my browser will load .gif pictures , and as I posted up there , this address points directly to this .gif ( http://www.reportbullies.org/Sponsors/Cochrane_Lions.gif ) , and I could not view that picture .

I would have to conclude that it is not your parents machine or its browser , but more likely that it would have something to do with the site and its sources for the pictures , the way they configured the server , or possibly elven magic ;)
